Tire recommendation for my wheel setup

Good day,

I am daily driving a 2011 (LCI) BMW 328i (N51) on stock suspension and stock shocks (NON-SPORT).

I have purchased BBS LM Reps with the following specifications:

19x8,5 30mm
19x10 32mm

I was going to purchase Federal tires (Since I am getting them for a cheap price) but I was hoping you folks could help me out with the tire dimensions.

I am a completely rookie, and I will definitely start searching now. I know I should search then post, but hey.. here's a picture to make-up for my wrong doing

Furthermore, will you folks think I will need to roll my fenders with a stock setup?

235/35 and 265/30 are usually the correct sizes. Whether you are an X drive model makes a difference too as you need to keep your rolling diameter under a 1% difference.

Ether that or yo could go 255/30 in the rear. Look a continental DWS. Great tire without the steep price

They are $150new. I am getting 50% off. I really am getting this price cus my friend owns a mod website.

Either way, I will just be cruising at low speeds or on the freeway going 75.

As far as the tire sizes presented, those seems tp be spot on?

Again, you get what you pay for. Save some coin, loose handling dry and wet, treadlife, comfort, but gain a lot of noise that grows as the tire wears. I'd ask your buddy if he has access to other brands.

You are the best person, I am definitely starting to reconsider...

This is my life I am talking about, I might as well see if he can get me the same discount on some higher tier tires.

I wonder if you folks can save me the hassle and throw myself two links of tires you would recommend.

I might be asking for too much, but once again it's my own fault for not searching

Depends on what you're looking for in the tire.

For summers, PSS all the way.

For all seasons, DWS or if you prefer a bit more dry/wet performance, A/S 3.

50,000 mile tire / W rated

Be Careful with a 30 profile tire. Unless your state has great roads, your bound to get a blown tire and a bent rim.

30 profile tire means because my wheel is wide so will be my tire? Therefore, the wider the wheel/tire the higher chances of damage?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the rookieness.

No. 30 profile is the mm of rubber between the rim and the outside of the tire. The lower this number, the lower profile. The width is the first number in the tire; 255 is the width.

Wow, finally, I understand it - to a minimal extent of course.

So 30 profile just means low profile in general terms?

Yes, take the size 255/35/19

255 is the width of the tire

35 is the amount of rubber between the rim and road (profile)

19 is the rim diameter

30 profile is less rubber between the road and the rim than 35, which unless the roads in your state are in awesome condition is not a good idea. Potholes eat 30 profile tires and the rims they are mounted too for breakfast.

235/35/19
265/35/19

This is what I am going with, and I plan to drop the car later.

I hope this is a good choice.

265/35 is going to be too tall, thats roughly an extra inch of sidewall height. You will more than likely rub in the rears and your rolling diameter will be off by way more than 3%. These cars come with low profile tires for a reason. Your traction control will go crazy. I strongly recommend going with the 265/30.

Actually, the true way to decipher the numbers is:

First number is treadwidth
second number is how tall the side wall of the tire is as a percentage of treadwidth.
Third number is rim size.
So of you have a 235/35-19
Tread is 235 mm wide
sidewall is 235/35 high or 82mm
rim is 19.

Wider tread me and taller sidewall even if profile number doesn't change.
a 275/35-19
Tread 275 mm
sidewall 275/35 or 96mm and 19 inch rim So you have to go down to 275/30-19. This makes the sides 275/30 or 83mm. Get it?

I'm on continental extreme contact dw's. Non run flat. I really enjoy the ride, it's a great tire. I cannot speak to the wear as I've had them for 2 weeks, however I did like the reviews, and I read dozens.

I think you will be fine with a continental DWS. I know someone with a 335is coupe and they just put continental DWS on the rear with a 265/35/19. Mind you the car comes with m-sport suspension standard. So, it's already lowered. Tires roll just fine.

If you plan on lowering your 328i, you will have to do your homework before you do. I would work closely with your local front end suspension shop.

That wouldn't work well. Rear tire will be tallet than the front by half an inch. A 265/30-19 or 275/30-19 would match better. Look at Mt calculations.
If you want a taller tire get the 265/35-19 rear and a 235/40-19 front so they match up better. I don't know if the extra diameter will cause rubbing issues in the front though and you won't be able to lower as much.

Those are good tires. I prefer Michelin because they last longer so you get more miles per dollar.
