nah crappy cars aren't their target, ALL SUVS are.

I live in an apartment so we have these gated parking building for all the residents in the complex. There was this time a year ago that a junkie broke into the parking building and broke 21 cars' windows.

I have both of my car parked in the building, my rx330's passenger window was broken. My 350z remained untouched.

out of the 21 cars, about 80% of them are SUVs.

They've visit this parking building numerous times already. My Rx330 alone had gone through 3 broke-ins. My 350z was untouched all along.

Man, it sucks to hear.
Hope that guy gets his fingers jammed in one of keyholes of cars that he tries to steal the next time...

And that black cobalt in the photo bothers me..
Did you park close to him or did that guy park close to you?
One of reasons why I won't parallel park... lol

Sorry buddy, yeah this is the kind of stuff that makes anyone fly into a rage. Vancouver is apparently becoming the worst city in Canada for this kinda crap.

That really sucks man! It could have been worse though. They could have taken your belongings, or better yet, your car. There are some serious auto thieves out there. Several years back in 1999 my parents 540i was stolen outside the courthouse in downtown Vancouver in broad daylight! Goes back to the truth of, "If they want it....they'll take it"

When the crack heads take your personal items like sunglasses, ipod etc ICBC will not cover it. As if dealing with ICBC isn't painful enough, if your car is broken into at home, you have to go through house insurance to recover those items. And yep you guessed it.... another deductible. More often then not it is just cheaper to go and buy the stolen items yourself and not make a claim. Either way it's money out of your pocket. Sorry to hear this happened!!

Wish you goodluck in the future dude!

sorry to hear buddy, maybe i'm a bit traditional, but i think the concept of "eye for an eye" is needed here (ex. the theives' hands should be chopped off) so the theive can't commit any related crime again

what a waste of $300, i rather give the money to charity that helps needed hungry children then to ICBC, damn monopolies

OR, try the monkey alarm alternatives:
Option 1:

Option 2:

+1....i ended up have to order the keyhole cover instead of paying $300 to replace the whole lock!!

its just as bad here in montreal. i got my previous 328 e90 broken into TWICE in the 2 years i owned it. they broke the front passenger side window of my car both times. first time i lost my gps and ipod that i kept in the trunk. 2nd time they stole the parking change i had in my glove box. was fucking pissed!

oh and both times my window got broken it was outside my house on the side of the street. so i know how you feel... fucking assholes!

Just get the Keyhole cover from bimmian. It works well, but then you can't do the key in ignition trick to close windows or open them.

Well, the keyhole cover is only $50 bucks, just replace it yourself, I doubt you need to spend $300 to fix it or not, give me a PM I can recommend you to a bodyshop who could fix it for cheaper than deductible.
