PIAA is the the one in "Y" shape, 4 small led, 2 near the optical firber, 2 on the concave surface of the inside lamp house. The Y shape arm are retractable, so that's why u can put them into the hole. They are more fit than the GP H8 bulb.

Bellof is like a traditional bulb with 2 big led at each side focus to the optical firber. I cannot install them since it is a bit long & need more time to fit in. I will try later to compare the difference. I personally think Bellof should be better since the LED is bigger.
Can't wait to see compare pics between H499 and the Bellof.

Sorry guys, it will be diffcult. From what I know PIAA E92 LED Angel Eye sometime is in shortage even in Japan. My friend also need to wait 1 week for delivery. That's why no HK shop is offering this at the moment.

Please ask the PIAA distributor in US to order to PIAA Japan. The model no. is H-499.

To revive an older thread...I just wanted to know whether the PIAA H-499s would be worth the time and effort to get. They are 23,400 yen or ~$209 from my source in Japan and before I bug my buddies in Kitakyushu I just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with the set-up.

Right now I have the luminics 6,000k Pure Blue bulbs in and not only did they cause computer errors, but they suck too...waste of $$$ but whatever.

I've heard mixed opinions on the GP Thunders among other H8 bulbs and I don't wanna end up shuffling through H8 bulbs.

Not to mention the slight pain in the A$$ it is to switch out those bulbs.

seems like the gp thunders are still the best , i mean they are like 30 dollars shipped compared to the PIAA which are over 200 bucks for only slightly very slightly better than the gp thunders it seems.

Actually i dont think either will be bright personally. I know too much about LED's ( LOL) and all of those are not using bright LED's with the PIAA ones, the outer rings should be equally as bright, however, it will not be as bright as stock, Not even close... thats my guess. I could probalby do some modifying to these units to make them much brighter then the original.

Is this true? Do you know the type/general model of LED used on the PIAAs?
Or whether any errors will be registered by the comp?

For $209 I expect my halos to look well...Heavenly

Loose bulbs?

Has anyone else experienced more looseness in their aftermarket upgrade H8 bulbs as compared to OEM? The OEM bulbs were tight and secure in the socket, but I find that my Xenesis Tru-Match bulbs (i.e. the E92 halo upgrade bulbs from Bimmian) are noticeably looser in the socket. I can't pull them straight out of the socket (they are fully inserted and rotated into the proper position), but I can certainly wiggle them around.

This can't be good. I can imagine them vibrating right out of the socket.

They are not suppose to wiggle....take your time you can get them to fit flush, you don't want moisture getting in there, i just installed my GP 7500 in tonight took me like 30 to do the whole thing but its worth spending the time if your going to do it

Same on mine--I sent them back. The space between the tabs and gasket is too great.

I'm up for the H-499s if we can find a source. I've contacted PRI Racing in the UK which lists them.

Can you post some daylight shots? I installed mine last night and I was horribly disappointed today when I saw them in daylight. They are invisible!

Here are a few daylight shots. They are ON, in case you are wondering...

Could this be a wrong installation?

I assume the LEDs need to rotate until they are precisely lined up with the plastic rods. Try to make sure you have fully rotated the bayonet mount.
