Nothing broken for me... but the list of preventative maintenance/upgrades is very high

(1) VANOS solenoid...after ~110k miles on the factory units, I consider that a win.

Nothing has really "broken down" for me this year, I just did the typical maintenance with changing all plugs, air filter and cabin air filter. In November 2017 I changed my OFHG gaskets, water pump/Tstat, serpentine belt, radiator hose from the head to the Tstat and upper radiator hose. I have a leak somewhere in my AC system that I'll have to find next spring/summer, I only had to refill it once at the beginning of summer and had to add about 5 to 8 PSI near the end of summer since I wasn't getting full cold air anymore so it's a fairly slow leak that i'll have to locate which I think is coming from the AC condenser.

You lucky bastard !!

If I had spent $3K on an extended warranty like Route 66, I would have actually saved money. I spent in excess of $4K fixing broken things.

Yep, I'm already $1000 positive on it (~$6300 of repairs - $4759 for warranty - ~$530 for deductibles and a few small non-covered parts).

I have two of 'em:

2010 535 (68k):
Preventative:
Intake blast
OFHG
VCG
Oil change
Plugs, 1 coil
Vacuum lines
Filters
Plugged intake PCV ports
Need to do diff fluid/auto trans fluid yet

Problem:
30FF code due to diverter valve o-rings being crappy. That one was fun to find, made test fixtures and pulled the all the charge piping/intercooler out.

2007 335 e92 (51k)
Preventative:
MT and diff fluid change
Oil change(s)
Diverter o-rings (used AS568-214 like the e60)
Vacuum lines (partial so far)
Filters
Heat shrink on blower motor wiring (have to take it in for recall)
Need to do VCG/OFHG/plug intake PCV ports

Problem:
A/C felt weak so had it evac'd and recharged
Fender reflector fell off

Waterpump and serpentine belt. I only have 65k on my engine lol, I am sure many more things will break before 100k.

What type of turbos did you replace with? Did you DIY?

I replaced the CHRAs with Rob Beck's TD-03 units. Did all the work myself. Just took my time and learned as I went. Not a lot of fun doing the work because of the tight spaces but I was also replacing the oil pan gasket at the same time, sooooo, since I had to drop the sub frame for the oil pan gasket it created some more room for the turbo replacement.

Almost 2,000 miles since replacement with no issues. Car runs like new now.
