E90 330D - Front Discs Scored, New Discs or Just Pads?
Hi All,
Just wondering whether new pads would be ruined by scored discs or the new pads will just flatten the surface of the disc over time. |

Those discs look to have quite a lip on them. But the only way to be certain is to measure the thickness.

Thanks for all the replies, looks like it's best to get a new set of discs. I was doing some research and I was surprised that drilled and grooved are quite noisy and most prefer the standard design, on top of that it's not really the disc that contributes much to the stopping power, it's best to focus on better pads. That's the gist I got from my research anyway.
So what's some descent discs? And what pads would people recommend? |

Having had both Pagid & Brembo discs on the 35i I found both makes ended up giving me steering wheel vibration under braking after a while. Am currently running ATE discs which were fitted August 2019 with no issues & would definitely buy ATE again over Pagid or Brembo. Although I suspect it was the Redstuff pads that most likely ruined the previous discs.

Yeah, I'd get discs & pads in your situation, if the discs were not scored and less worn just pads is fine.

For an upgrade on pads you could look at PFC Z rated, EBC yellow stuff, Pagid RSL 1 etc Whilst you're doing the brakes, maybe do the calliper slider pins and boots too (ATE) - they don't cost much. |
