I just bought a 328i with the same color interior and want to do something similar, but don't know where to find the OEM molded carpet. Is this something that has to be ordered from the dealer? Online searches only get me carpet by the yard...

DIY - Two tone interior rear door E92
DIY - Two tone interior rear doors in a E92
The two tone upgrade continues with this DIY removing the beige leather centers and attaching them to black door cards. It could be useful to anyone wanting to change the look of their interior door panels or those wanting to replace their fiber optic ambient lighting This DIY involves screwing the leather panel into place. I used sheet metal 8G x 12 mm screws and 3/16" washers. The screw and washer combo wont pierce the center panel as long as you are careful I have gone into lots of detail in for taking apart the door card in the first half of the DIY but put less detail into back half of the DIY as many of the steps are repeats. Also have skipped the detail of taking out the door panels and reinstalling them into your car as this is covered in my previous DIYs in this series Hope this helps someone out |

Wow, this is really helpful! I need to eventually sort out my centre console between the front seats of my E90 which has horrible marks where the soft touch coating has come off. And this reveals white plastic under the grey coating, so it looks very yucky at the moment. The grey carpets and the rest of the interior is still pretty clean, but it's good to see how to go about changing it all if necessary!! Thanks for sharing!!
