MODS AND WARRANTIES = http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66970

And I believe it wont affect the warranty not unless the paint is the reason ur calipers go bad...or if the paint caused anything else to go bad...which i highly doubt

Yellow Calipers

I just ordered the yellow kit from a local autoparts store ($19)

http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliper.html

Also had the BMW service advisor tell me that it will not void warranty unless somehow the paint causes a squeek, which I don't see how it could if applied correctly.

Nice find, do you think it will come out glossy or matte for this application.

I need to get some black G2 caliper paint on order so I can paint my calipers. I keep saying that i'm going to do it, but I keep putting it off for some reason.

A word of advice to those who are thinking about painting their calipers, I would definitely stay away from using the $19 Duplicolor paint that most auto parts stores carry (ie. pepboys, advance, autozone, etc). That is NOT an epoxy paint like G2 paint is, and they are known to flake off after a year or so from being heated and cooled so many times. I think its worth the extra $10-$15 to get the G2 paint instead. I had it on my s2k for three years and it looked like the day I put it on when I sold it.

I found a spray paint typically used for Stoves. It is said to withstand 1200 degrees F

http://www.stovepaint.com/Upload/Dow...ownloads26.pdf

I already bought the duplicolor, if it only last a year or two that is OK with me. Hopefully it last just enough for 50,000 miles to pass by and then i can get BBK since warranty no longer covers the pads and rotors.

G2 paint is the best. I've used it many times and NEVER needed a repaint. You are able to get it on eBay...it even comes with a little G2 sticker

IMO, these calipers are not color worthy.

I just did the calipers and hubs on my 330i this past week. This not only made it look better in my opinion, but should help prevent the hubs from rusting and caliper easier to keep clean.

I'm a picture nut with everything I do, so here's a few from start to finish. Note, the fronts were done at night, and I didn't get any before shots, but they looked similar to the rears prior to paint prep.

I decided to go with a silver color, because I thought it would be the best looking to blend with the Sparkling Graphite Metallic paint. I'm not one for flashy reds or yellows on my calipers.

The paint I used is High temp engine paint. I simply sprayed it into a bowl and used a brush to apply. The color on the can is 'Aluminum'. This is also very fast drying, and I was able to drive it a few hours later with no problems.

Rear before paint prep

After cleaning, sanding with 100 grit, wire brush, and another cleaning

Masked rotor (I painted the hubs first, then removed the tape and painted the calipers second)

Finished

Opposite rear finished

I even gave the lugs a repaint

Wheel back on

Fronts done (Again, it was dark out)

If there's any questions feel free to ask, or PM me.

i agree with the G2 paint. a seller on eBay has kits in every different color you can imagine (yellow, red, blue, pink, orange, purple, silver, black, white, green, etc etc) for $37.99 with free shipping. includes everything you need and worth the extra $$ IMO.

can anyone post pics of their calipers done in red? interested in the outcome...

For all of you thinking about painting your calipers, check out G2 brushable caliper paint. Its relatively inexpensive and it looks great! I am about to start a project in about two weeks to paint my calipers red and my hubs black using G2 products. I can post pictures or answer any questions after that if needed
