Instrument cluster change caused error CC-ID 179

I recently changed my cluster on my '07 e92 330i as my old one had issues with the speedo getting stuck occasionally, however apon changing it with a replacement from a donor car, it flagged up a yellow cog with an exclamation point and the fault code CC-ID 179, I looked this up and it seems to be a fault related to the auto transmission, however I have a manual gearbox. Thinking I was foolish and bought the wrong cluster (it did have a different part number), I bought another one this time from a manual with the correct part number, however the symbol still remained in the center of the dash, it wasn't there before I swapped the cluster so my best guess is that it was an issue that was with the donor car?

so the question is does anyone know how to clear the fault?

Have you tried clearing the fault code with software?

Coding to you car is needed mate.

The cluster is for a an auto and you need to code it to your car (manual), that will clear the code.

Use NCS expert and onne_vin (not code with vin) when writing back

As opjose says, virgin coding would help with the vin and mileage correction
