Bluetooth, USB, TCU coding/activation

Good day everyone I come with a problem that hopefully someone here can guide me to the right place. ctuna has been awesome helping me but I still can't seem to get this thing figured out. Let me set the stage.

I got a donor car 2007 328i (e90) that came with TCU, MULF2, SAT Radio, USB, BT, and CCC. I pulled all of that equipment out including wire harnesses and put them in a 2009 328i (e92) the car was only prepared for SAT Radio nothing else.

With the help of ctuna I was able to get the CCC installed and working and turned my attention to the USB which is where I am now. I have the BT Hub, AUX + USB ports in center console and MULF 2 in the trunk and 6FL added to the VO. With all this done I have no USB functionality.

I tried coding the MULF 2 to activate BT but keep getting an error "Module not answering" something along those lines. I verified power to the module, and that its emitting a fiber optic signal (light)

I did not code the TCU to the car and was wondering if this is required, if it is how to do so what is the SA for TCU?

Do I need to code CAPPL (CCC) for USB? if so what string in the .TRC file.

Sorry for the log post but I just want to cover all bases. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

you have to be sure that MOST light coming not only from module MOST socket but from MOST plug too. And this should be with all modules on MOST ring you've got
after that you can be sure that headunit reach all modules.

loose the TCU its useless. SOS does not exist anymore for this unit.
Read the Mulf 2 hi if possible .

You should be looking at your trace files with text editor no need to look at
strings.

Yes I did check for light at each of the modules and it is present on both sides socket/connector and cable. Thanks

If I got rid of the TCU wouldn't I need to rewire stuff? I'm looking at the trace file in notepad. I gather that all that is needed is 6FL nothing else, right? do I need to recode any of the ECU like I had to when I installed the CCC?

If you install 6fl in the VO you will have to factory code
both the Mulf and the Head unit . Both devices need to have
6fl turned on in there firmware to work.
If you can find all the usb parameters in the modules you
can just turn them on alternatively.

Read that thread you included and will try to remove the TCU and see if anything changes....thanks I've also included all the USB parameters in the MULF2 do I need to do the same for the Head Unit as well. Also as I am typing this I realized that all this equipment came out of the same car and was not tampered with (working condition) shouldn't the coding already be set for USB and BT? just curious.

ctuna you've done it again, provided the final piece to my USB problem. I had to factory code CAPPL and it started working. Thank you.

Do you know the Service OPTION for SAT radio? that is my next addition.

The list is in the coding sub forum stickys.

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=717103
But there is the official Bmw installation procedure for Sat
floating around in a Sat thread here somewhere.

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...ghlight=Sirius

Search for Sirius here gives more like this and do in the coding sub forum 2.

BMW makes you pay for every option in some cases the option hardware
may just be setting there turned off because someone ordred the other function
that the module takes care of but not that one.
