255/35/18 will fit in the front of 335is?

This question is only for 335is owners, because of the vents in the front of the wheel wells. I already know they fit on other models.

I'm on Dinan springs, so not lowered that much.

Has anyone tried 255/35/18 in the front? Same logic applies to 255/30/19 and 255/40/17.

Please let me know if you've tried any of these sizes on your 335is, and if you had any problems.

Planning on mounting them on 9" wheels, 30 offset.

I have 18x9 et30 ARC-8s up front with 255/35/18 Pilot Super Sports. At full lock (I can't remember which way) it rubs on that vent in the wheel well. I just unwind the wheel a quarter turn and it goes away, but it's a pretty stupid problem to have. I'm on the stock M sport suspension.

Problem is 235 is barely an improvement over stock (and kind of a stretch on 9" wheels) and 245 doesn't have the correct diameter no matter what sidewall ratio you go with. So I just roll with it (no pun intended).

I'm assuming your car is 335is? Any rubbing while driving and hard cornering?

I don't mind little rubbing at full lock. Seems like a small problem. I'll be getting Indy 500 which have a curvier sidewall. Hopefully it will help as well.

Also, what's your camber in the front?

Yes, 2013 335is. No rubbing while driving. My camber up front is whatever the max is without plates or pulling the pins, I can't recall exactly. Something around -1 to -1.5?

Perfect. Thanks man. I think I'll pull the trigger.

What are you running in the back by the way?

18x9.5 et 35 wrapped in 265/35/18 Super Sports. I'd like to go 275 back there eventually but I didn't for some reason (I think there's rubbing potential? Can't remember).

There is. Depending on your tires, might have to roll the fenders.

That sounds right. Honestly, 255/265 staggered looks and feels great.

I'm getting new tires in the next few days. Currently, I'm running the following:

Apex Arc-8
Michelin Pilot Super Sports
18x9 et30, 245/40 5mm spacer to clear Öhlins R&T coilovers)
18x9.5 et35, 265/35
Fenders not rolled.

I'm dropped as far as Öhlins can go, but will probably raise them soon, though. With 245/40 up front, I get no rubbing during normal or spirited driving. There's only ONE hard dip on the freeway that will cause rubbing on the fronts, which I've learned to slow for. Front passenger will rub on full lock (wheel turned left) when backing up due to the oil cooler vent. But like someone mentioned, back off a bit and it won't rub. Do it enough and it'll just shave it down over time.

My new set-up will be 255/35 front and 265/35 (again) rear. I'll grab some pics and report back after I get my new set.

Photos as promised. There is now less stretch on the tires and the fender gap remains about the same. Look at those treads! Love them..

No rubbing so so far.

Edit: sorry, just realized you asked for IS only.

No rubbing when backing up full lock? You have an e92, right?

No rubbing with 255/35. It rubbed with 245/40.

The rubbing is only on 335is cars because of the vent in the fender liner.

Just looking at these pics makes me believe you haven't hit a hard enough bump yet. The tire sidewall is farther than the edge of the fender!

Stock, no pins pulled or anything. I've hit some pretty ugly dips on the freeway and nothing yet. We have a freeway that goes over an old landfill that sinks and has to be replaced/leveled out every few years. I'm pretty attentive when driving. I don't plan on plowing through any bumps.
