Coilovers for e90 for DD
Greetings all,
As I was doing my oil pan gasket, waterpump and thermostat, engine mount, radiator hose replacements. I noticed that my front passenger strut was leaking. In light of this, I will now be looking to upgrade to coilovers, in which i have no knowledge of. I have an e90 as a DD which would be the best "Bang for your buck" coilover setup I could install to go lower, but the ride will not feel too stiff. Thank you for your time. I have been looking at "BC Racing BR's".. Edit: Admin Please delete, Wrong subforum. Last edited by tomasp001; 04-03-2020 at 03:03 PM.. Reason: Request to delete, wrong subforum |

My best suggestion for you would be the Bilstein B12 Kit coupled with the M3 control arm kit & hotchkiss swaybar links for both front & rear. |

1. Is it possible just to get by with just purchasing the coilovers for now? 2.What are the effects of just buying the coilover kit? (Will my ride be Stiff af, puts extra stress on other suspension components?) I am not looking to upgrade my whole suspension right now, I am just looking to replace that leaking strut. While being able to lower the car. Thank you for your time. (kinda hitting 2 birds with 1 stone) i have OEM 17" rims on rn, just bought the car. so I still have to catch up on maintenance. |

I'd add the M3 control arm kit down to road. The B12 kit is made for aggressive street driving and track use. It will be stiffer than OEM that's for sure. I have it. It will take 3 to 4,000 miles to settle in. I don't know a lot about BC racing coil overs. Most of the people on this forum upgrade with either Koni Yellow's or Bilstein B6 or B8's on their 335. The b12 kit combines Eibach lowering springs & B8's. You should invest about $200.00 into surrounding hardware. With the B12 kit, you don't need bump-stops. On the struts, they are built in & on age shocks they come with them. I'd also set aside another $100.00 for tools like a spring compressor & two strut sockets. ECS tuning sells the strut sockets. FCP Euro is the way to go for everything else since they have a lifetime warranty. When I did mine, it costs me around $1100 US. Total between the kit, tools & surrounding hardware. |

As for $200 for surrounding hardware.. can you emphasize what other hardware I need? and about the $100 for tools, I don't really need tools, my friend's family owns a shop, they just let me go in there and use their hoist and tools.. but what size of strut sockets would I need just in case, so I can ask my friend if they have that specific size. lol |

That's a ripoff, you can get them here under 1k. I'd rather have ST's which are made by KW than the Bilsteins but can't go wrong with either.

You can peruse the ECS tuning site. They have several different levels of surrounding hardware you can look at. |
