BMW 2007 Coupe E92 Aftermarket Stereo Install

Hi All, my first post as I just bought my BMW E92

I'd like to install an amp, sub and 6x9s

The 6x9s will most likely be in the boot but installed in

http://caraudiosecurity.com/6-x-9-speaker-boxes

I don't think my BMW sound system has an amp in the boot, I've included a few photos of where I think the amp is meant to be? Could someone confirm that I have the lower end factory install with no amp?

The BMW headhunt doesn't have bluetooth either so I'm assuming I've got the lower end of the sound system range.

If there's no amp and I can install any headhunt in my car, from what I've read I need to also connect an ignition switch feed. I don't want to go to the fuse box so could someone confirm if I could tap into the cigarette lighter connection in the main console?

If so, which colour wire would I tap into and which one of these connectors would I use? Photo attached

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60Pcs-Ter...53.m1438.l2649

Assuming all of the above is ok, I also have parking sensors so I'm guessing I'd need to use the following wiring harness?

http://caraudiosecurity.com/bmw-1-se...or-warning-ton

rather than:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/bmw-mini...aptor-quadlock

I'm hoping to install a single din unit rather than double din - I don't want to go through moving the AC buttons further down etc so would the following fascia work?

http://caraudiosecurity.com/ct24bm04...ngle-din-facia

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi mate, thanks for your reply. Some really useful links you've given me!

Is it possible to confirm if the amp isn't in the rear left of the boot, where else could it be?

Thanks in advance.

Run a vin check on your car with

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...pytm6ui2dWc1zK
options for stereo systems are as follows
676 = Hi fi
677 = top hi fi
688= top hi fi after 09
none of the above = base system
Also the lack of tweeters in the front door sills means base system
also called the stereo system.

The amps are always in the same place.
see the third link.

Thanks mate! Looks like I have the base system which means I could install an aftermarket headhunt and amp quite easily.

Update:

No tweeters in the front doors but I found a factory amp in the boot. I thought this was meant to be located on the left hand rear but I found it after removing the boot carpet.

Assuming this means I've still got the base system and I can connect an aftermarket head unit and aftermarket amp+sub with

http://caraudiosecurity.com/bmw-1-se...or-warning-ton

Does this mean the subs in the front seats will not work with a aftermarket headunit?

Thanks for your help so far!!

Are you sure its not a DAB , TCU, SAT module or Mulf 2 Hi or
combox? Usually all BMW Modules are well labeled.
I would bet that is your DAB tuner.

Thanks for your reply mate. I’ll take a better picture of it and pull out the wiring harness behind the BMW headunit to clarify from both ends.

Thats your dab module. Your car does not have an amp.

Thanks Nickco43 and ctuna

I'm guessing you're both right

I took a photo of the harness just incase. I think I'm going to go with the Eonon headunit as it looks more OEM.
