I've just imported a backed-up copy of my Outlook over to my new laptop but only the e-mails have imported successfully. No contacts, notes or calendar entries.

When I go to export, using a .pst file, I select my e-mail address (with 'include subfolers' ticked) and away we go. However, this only seems to do my actual e-mails.

Tried another back, this time selecting the Outlook Data File, which seems to contain what I'm after, but when I imported this non of the information is anywhere to be seen.

Any ideas??

Info - old laptop : WinXP / Office 2010
new laptop : Win7 / Office 2010

i'd kinda need to see what you're doing. It sounds like your doing it right though.

1) go to old outlook. export to a PST file, selecting all subfolders under your "mailbox"

2) pick a destination for the PST and then export

3) open new outlook, import "outlook data file" and then select your .PST. at this point you tell it to place items into the same folders in the new mailbox. overwriting any duplicates.

That's what I thought. So annoying each export takes overnight so such a long drawn out trial & error exercise.

When it asks me to select what to export I select my email address (obviously it also does the sub-folders) but isn't exporting the Outlook Data Folder which is under it - cant highlight more than one folder (either holding shift or control).

Might try to get a screenshot if I continue to struggle.

Thanks for all the input. Managed to get it sorted I think. All seems OK (for now at least!).
