Canadian Tire Castrol Sale

Thought I'd share this with my fellow Canadians.
June 5th to June 11th.

Last time I was there, they didn't carry 0W-XX in the big jugs, so this is the next best thing.

wait for the 5l jug ... average cost per litre would be much cheaper. Last sale was around $32 + taxes while Mobil 1 0w40 was going for around $36 + taxes for 4.4l.

I agree that the big jug is still a better deal, but in my experience they don't carry the 0W grades in the big jugs (at least not at the CT's near me).

Yeah, actually I was really surprised that BMW oil was so cheap. I had expected they'd mark the price up like crazy.

I did use that up until a year or two ago when the lifter tick started bugging me, and the 0W got rid of it, so I stick with castrol now.

Not saying it's better or worse, just what I like to use.

When I had my last oil change for the E90 at a local BMW dealer, I brought my own Castrol 0W30 oil and the BMW tech refused to use it as he said they are too thin. He used the BMW 5W30 instead. I didn't had that problem before when I used Mobil 1 0W40 for my E46.

I got a couple of 5w40 jugs last time they were on sale a few weeks ago. That weight was the only one there that was actually BMW LL-01 approved.

It looks like CT will have some Castrol Edge w/ SPT on sale for $31.99. The usual sale price is $35 or so, but this is a "Big Red Weekend" sale. I'm not sure what weights will be available, but the usual verities should be offered.

Picked up some 0W40 from CT last Thursday. I believe it was $32 for the 5L jug. I typically use Mobil1, but this is $53 for the 4.4L or 5qt. I usually pick up some Mobil1 from the Walmart in the states when I go. I bought the Castrol for the Mini Cooper my girlfriend drives
