Key fob + radio station issue

I just recently am encountering issues with the locking and unlocking my 2009 328i Sportswagon. Occasionally, when I push the lock or unlock button on the key fob, there is no response by the car. When I unlock the car using the spare key, the radio display will show that no stations have been saved yet. Next time the key fob works, all the saved radio stations are displayed again!?! Is the control board bad? Has anybody experienced a similar issue?

Not sure if this is related but I want to mention for the sake of completeness that the rear door on the driver side has not opened automatically for some time now. I assume the actuator went on to a better life. Its replacement is waiting for installation already. Just need to find a couple of hours.

Thanks for all the help!

It could be THIS.

Car memory/key memory. Forget the time-wasting process of returning your seat, mirrors and climate control back to your preferred settings after someone else has driven your BMW - car memory/key memory automatically returns key cabin features back to your individual preferences as soon as you use the key to open the door. Key memory is programmed for two keys and can be expanded to up to four drivers. Each driver is automatically recognized by his or her key.

Drivers’ Profiles allow drivers to save and call up individual settings in the vehicle – from the height of the seat, the preferred setting to the favourite radio station.

A BMW driver can configure many of the driving, comfort and infotainment functions in his vehicle to suit his preferences. On leaving the vehicle the individual settings of the relevant control units are automatically saved in a profile file and assigned to the radio control key that was used. These settings are activated as soon as this key is used again. Three radio control keys can thus store three drivers’ profiles. This is a good idea when several people drive the same BMW, e.g. if it’s used as a company car. Alternatively, if only one remote control key is used, the different drivers’ profiles can also be accessed from the on-board computer via the Control Display (Settings  Profiles). There are four profiles available for each vehicle.

Each keyfob have a complete car profile saved in it and it's loaded when you use it on the car. Includes radio stations, seats memory, etc.

^^^ This. All your settings (presets, temps, etc) are saved to a key profile and are recalled when you use that key to unlock the car. Since you didn't use that key to unlock the car, the profile wasn't loaded.

Diversity antenna on E91 is radio signal amplifier and locking module antenna

How old is your car battery, that could be culprit also.
