Yea, Cleveland is probably a bit far for us Dayton/Cinci people.

The Greene was great, although I'm not sure they'd have us again from what I heard happened towards the end of the day.

When is HIN? I wish we could just have it at Kelly. Maybe they could sell some more cars to make room for us lol!

Hey guys, how has everyone been? I got permission to post this link: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=primanti+bros
If anyone is interested from your area please let me know so we can try and put something together some time. I understand you guys have a meet in Oct, I believe Todd told me the 11th, so as long as it does not conflict with that we are good. Good day to you guys. Shane

Everyone. I have been in contact with Newport On The Levee about having us and should be getting more information later this week. I am not sure about the Columbus area, but the last time we had this event it went very well and it was had in Dayton. Ideally Easton would have played team ball, but that didn't happen and now we move on. We had a planning meeting in early August (I believe) and for those that attended we discussed possible venues and people assigned to handle bringing this together. So as I am all for a great venue, we are not pushing an area and it is not set in stone that this will be in Columbus. Considering that we will have lots of people from Cincy, Dayton, Indy, Columbus, KY, and maybe even some from Cleveland, Pittsburgh, etc, we need to be conscience of the distance that some people may or are willing to travel. Anyways, not to digress, but we are working on nailing down a spot, that works and gives us all if not more than we had at The Greene (it may be possible, but again may not be).
Again, I have spoke to the appropriate person at the Levee and they are discussing this with upper management. If we do have it there it may require a small parking fee (not more than $3-$5 per car, but it may be even less or nothing), as they would have us in a lot and would be loosing that revenue from the spots reserved for us, that is what they are trying to work out. For those not familiar with the Levee I am attaching their website link. This location would be ideal for a number of reasons. Geography (about 45minutes from Dayton, easy for the Cincy people, 1 1/2 hours for Columbus folks, and about 1 1/2+ hours for Indy, close to Lexington and Louisville, KY, etc.,) photo op location (with the city skyline as a backdrop, possible), things to do (shop, eat, drink and play). Also spoke to people at Hoffbrau Haus in Newport and can use their parking lot (small), but it is a great German restaurant, big beers, huge beer garden, and live greman music inside. Thought that would be cool to have as the lot we are talking about is right across the street from Hoffbrau, and we are all driving and talking German engineering!?! As of right now that is and has been for the past few weeks, after the Easton no go, the top spot, but again nothing is set in stone, but we are getting closer. This does take some planning and work on this end, so please myself and others are working on getting this together, bear with me and us...it is not as easy as some may think. After the great event at The Greene we are trying to replicate the general feel, but will never get that again excpet for the Greene, but as those who were there know, that will never happen again. Ideas, thoughts, etc. absolutely welcome! We are hoping to get 50-100 cars if not more. This event needs to be BIG! Thanks Shane for the info on the Pittsburgh meet. Sounds great! Thanks again, look forward to meeting up with you. Cheers http://www.newportonthelevee.com/

Agreed- Great idea, Todd!
Newport is a good location. And the Hoffbrau Haus.... If you gents haven't been there, you gotta try the dunkel. Hopefully this will pan out. If you need help, let me know.

Love the sound of "Okto Bimmer Festivus on the Levee"
Too perfect to hold it across from a German restaurant! You're good! Todd, can your design intern do some ideas for a logo version of Bimmer Festivus that we could use? The words are good, but a shape, color, background, typeface would make it perfect. For a big banner sign, for flyers that we'd all carry in our cars and hand out like candy, and for little signs on our cars as they are on display at the Festivus--to identify the owner, the E90Post handle, and car details. |
