Any one know how difficult it would be to import one? I've read mixed reviews on the process in general, but nothing specific for E9X's / modern BMW's

This one looks interesting and the price is right, even though it's an automatic.

Geez, we are starting to get into the 1M price territory with these. 33 large buys a very nice e9X M3, for crying out loud! By the way, that $40K wagon at EAG...., yeah, it's sold...

It's truly insane. I have a 37k miles 2011 E90 M3 6MT slicktop garaged 24/7 since new, etc, beast that I often drive on the same day as the E91. These cars couldn't be further apart in the driving experience. I've done suspension, wheel and tire mods to the E91 also, but it can't hold a candle to my M3. There is nothing that fantastically special about a 6MT N52 as I have one of those too (since new) in the form of an E90 330i.

Anyone looking to sell a 6MT E91, especially if it is low miles and late model -- SELL NOW! Strike while the iron is white hot.

Really? Sold? At that "laughable" price? Shocking!

Arguably one of the best m sports available in quite some time. I'm surprised it didn't sell sooner.

I might as well buy an E91 off some local old guy on Craigslist. Maybe 140,000 miles for $8000 then sell it on BaT for let's say $20,000...

Why is it insane? Because it's not an M car? It doesn't have to be a powerhouse to be special. It's extremely functional, looks great compared to many other comparable wagons, has RWD and AWD variants, 6 speed option, a good engine, etc. production numbers alone on 6MT M Sports are enough to keep prices aggressive. As long as EAG has an interest in the E91, the prices will continue to slowly rise...much like nearly every other series in their inventory.

Anyone with a low mileage, late model, 6mt, RWD variant are sitting on a sought after gold mine. Yes they'd do well on the sale today, but they'll do even better in the future...especially with an m sport. It's not time to sell...it's time to buy.

I agree. There is no newer replacement (in 6MT RWD) which means prices will stay flat or continue to climb as long as the economy is strong. My wallet felt a little lighter as mine ticked over the 60k mark last week.

It's a mania. There is nothing special about a 6MT just because it's in a wagon that can't be duplicated for a few $k and a bit of time. There is definitely nothing special about the lowest performing imported to USA N52 in the heaviest chassis. When bidders are screaming bids at you with bulging eyes and strained voices, that's when it's time to liquidate into the mania. Anyone buying an "M-sport" 6MT wagon from EAG for $40k and dreaming it's some kind of "investment" is the insane part -- this behavior only shows up very late in economic expansions. What accompanies it are the justifications.

I just sold my almost 15 year owned E39 M5 garage queen into the current environment. I loved the car but had hardly driven it in 5-6 years, and it was time. The market for cars like mine had appreciated about 70-80% over the past 6-7 years. Will it continue to go up? Who knows -- nobody. I did everything I could have done with an E39 M5 over those years and enjoyed it greatly; that this manic market was there to make selling it for a great price at this time was icing on its cake. However, for $40k and expecting it to appreciate or hold value, I'd put that into an E39 M5 long before an E91.

Exactly! Certain BMW enthusiasts are going to keep this car on their radar.

Everybody knows there's nothing special about the engine...it's a good engine though. I disagree on the 6MT not being special enough. You know 6MT's are a dying breed. From what I understand, there were a total of 1990 RWD E91 wagons offered in the U.S. 152 of those are M-Sport. 49 of those are 6MT. How many of those 49 are still on the road? Sorry, but those numbers alone on an overall fantastic chassis make for a desirable car even though it's not an M powerhouse. Sure, you can go and convert to 6MT. But don't expect the same return as a factory optioned 6MT. Personally, I'd never touch a car that has had a transmission swap. You have no idea who bought that $40K EAG car and what they're going to do with it. Can it not be someone who loves the E9x chassis and is willing to pay a premium to have the best condition one that has hit the marketplace in quite some time?

We're not comparing what's the better investment here...E39 M5 or E91. That is ridiculous. It's the simple fact the E91 is appreciating in value at a certain rate and it is a desirable car for many. I don't understand why it has to be absurd that a clean example can't fetch that kind of cash. Clean examples of any car are going to fetch a premium. Christ, we are talking in an entire thread devoted to the pricing of the E91. This thread alone is proof as to how much interest there is in these cars.

That is exactly my point...and why it's time to liquidate into the mania. It won't last no matter what the numbers. We've already seen bubble blowoffs in numerous German cars in this current manic environment like the early 911/911S craze of 2012-2014, early 930s 2013-2015, etc, and the spillover emotions driving the pricing of all of these explosive pricing moves don't exist at low risk times since all markets are pricing the future with essentially zero risk right now. Hence the reason crazy stuff happens that is always capable of being justified during such periods.

It's just an observation for a non-car-centric point of view as a fund manager. If I'm the only one that holds such an opinion, that only reinforces the observation of the bubblishness of this market at this point in time. If it was tradeable, it's not time to short it yet, but definitely a time to liquidate longs into the bids.
