So I opted to remove my GIAC flash last friday and I was told my car was back to stock, but after being suspicious that my car still felt fast, I logged some boost and sure enough, the car was boosting to 13-14 PSI.

So when you guys flash back for dealer visits, just make sure you double check that the reversion ACTUALLY occurred or else you could have an unpleasant phone call from your Service Advisor.

Also if you decide to go back to a piggy that does not have overboost protection, you could unknowingly be boosting over the flash which could cause some serious damage.

NOTE: I am NOT bashing this Flash, just sending an FYI, I think since the tune is so new GIAC is probably just working out the little process bugs. I actually really like this tune, it just didn't work out for my needs of being able to revert back to stock in the comfort of my home.

I will be going back on Tuesday to try to get me back to ACTUAL stock.

HA! Yah I did get a refund on the spot, but for me, I just worry about my warranty. I actually had a failed o2 sensor that would not allow me to drive my car (flashing CEL) so I had to pay $400 out of pocket for that repair at my local independent shop. I just don't want to be in this situation again.

^^ I know what you mean. I was considering GIAC so I sold my JB3...but now I'm just going to go back to JB+ because I no longer want to go into the ECU

How is that even possible??? did they forget to bring the car into the shop or was it a computer/file error?

Its like going in for an oil change, paying and realizing you still have old oil..

so did you have this failed 02 sensor when you were driving around with the flash?

you can get generic Bosch o2's for about 100 bucks, but I didn't want to splice into the wire just in case the failure was wire related one, so to be safe I replaced it with an OEM o2 with full wiring harness.

Everything worked great for the first 10 days of having the flash, but as I was driving back from Mountain Biking it decided to crap out causing misfires in cylinders 4-5-6 and also throwing a "bank 2" o2 sensor reading. I limped the car into the my local BMW indy shop to perform this repair.

The car was fine for a while with the flash. No codes. No issues. Even when it was dyno'd and road tested. The o2 sensor failed a couple weeks after the flash was installed and made the car essentially undriveable.

to Clarify, I had ZERO issues with the flash in a performance aspect eventhough I was hoping for more power. It was mainly a reversion back to stock issue.

ill be flashing back to stock today due to trading in the car in a couple months. glad GIAC offers he 30-day money back guarantee. no performance issues here. cheers to GIAC for a good product, and i'm sure many improvements to come.

also, to the OP (and tuners reading): doesn't it take a few days for the car to fully adjust back to stock settings? i remember taking off my SSTT and having the car feel even for a about a week; quickly thereafter the car returning to stock boost levels...

there might be some adaptation, but not 6+ PSI adaptation

If anything I would assume the car would boost even lower than max stock levels.

Good point. And the SSTT boosts about ~3psi above stock which isn't much. I just got back from reflashing and car feels like normal

Your car was mistakenly re-flashed with a performance chip by the flashing dealer. This is not a normal thing. He should have contacted you by now to remedy the situation.
