Basic Sound System Specs.
Hi guys,
Upon doing a google search, I was unable to find the specs. for the basic 07 328xi sedan sound system. I think it's very good (considering Volvo offered only 4 speakers on the s60 basic package...) and I am curious about the wattage and stuff. Could someone point me in a direction where I can find this info? Thanks, Dave |

It is good and I love it, now I regret not getting logic 7. At the time I was looking into this, I assume an after market was better so I left it alone. Now I found it is very costly to mod the stereo if I want a flush lookin one. Stick to factory upgrades than an expensive after maket ones, unless your the serious bumping bass freak go for aftermarket.

If you're a thumping bass freak (and hey, who wasn't at one point or another), you'll be sorely disappointed with any stock system. There's just no substitute for a custom box with 2 x 12's hooked up to an amp in the trunk. But once you do that, you find that the drivers for the tweets are too weak to keep up with the bass, so you start tearing door panels apart, and so on and so forth. Sound familiar?

Is it really rubbish ? I have one 6-speaker in my 2005 Renault Megane and it really sounds decent, at least for my basic needs. Could BMW's be worse ? I mean, its a premium car...right ? |

hi-fi in a noisy car? I wouldn't fool myself.
I got the basic and won't pay a dime for the "upgraded" system. Nothing BMW offers can beat my gorgeous DIY speakers with Seas drivers and Parasound electronics at home. |

The cd player is crap but when you hook the ipod, it somehow sounds better. I think the ipod sound processing system does good with the speakers.

i don't like the basic. sure it's a good standard system but i hate turning the volume all the way and the bass cuts out in the sub waiiting for the unit to recharge and that is with jam bands and classic rock. the bass should never cut out the way it does. the logic 7 is much much better!!! the only people that complain don't have it set up properly or they came from an aftermarket sound system.. i have a 5k sound system in my e34 540 and the logic seven does sound more balanced and full.

i'm happy with the logic7 system. in my old car i had two 12's and a huge amp, even though i got everything new on ebay for half-price it was still a dumb investment in my opinion
