335xi without oil cooler

Sup guys.

Friend of mine bought 07 e90 335xi and it didn't have the factory oil cooler.

Dealer said it's because the car doesn't have sport package. Is this true? I didn't know sport package includes oil cooler.

I thought all the 335 come with oil cooler except very early cars. I have e92 335 and it has oil cooler. When I bought my car xi models hadn't came out yet. So his car is newer than mine but no oil cooler.

The question is, is it okay to get a tune without oil cooler? I concern about this because our cars get so much heat. Of course it would depends on how hard he drives the car, but i want general opinions on this.

Thanks in advance!

You need BOTH :
1) 18" wheel option
2) sport package

Then you get the oil cooler.

(ask me how I know)

i dont have an oil cooler, and i have run a tune in my car since about 3000 miles (16k now). Ive never had my oil temps pass 250. I do live in Washington though, which stays pretty cool but does get to the occasional 90s.

I plan on adding my own soon though just in case, and peace of mind.

The early build 07's with sport and 18's did not have an oil cooler installed. BMW will not install unless your dealer is willing to or you nag them to the point the dealer and BMW NA cave in. You probably have to show proof you need one, issues with your car that point to you need one, etc.
