with more power (and perhaps a better drive?) than an M3 i say it's by definition a 'sleeper' even with the badges

keep them!

Personally I do not see why people try to emulate and pretend they have something that they otherwise can't afford. Why not spend the money and make it a one of a kind individual car with aftermarket parts instead of all m3 parts?

Just not sure the goal of the project unless it was to pass this off as an m3/?
In answer to your question, the goal was widebody. I couldn't find anything else that I liked and chose this path. I never tell people its a M3, they should know better when they see the intercooler but if not, I'm always happy to tell them it isn't because I have a passion for modifying and I'll happily chew off the ears of anyone who's willing to listen!

I am still of the belief that it is one of a kind...my own personification of what I found I liked in bmw design. Just happened to be M3 style. It didn't mean I wanted a M3 (it is affordable but not justifiable for my own personal circumstances) to begin with as I actually love the sound of a screaming inline six.

Hope that goes some way to answering your question but I know you'll still maintain your own view and that's fine No matter what, this forum is meant for that and I hope that my reply goes someway to give you a insight into my own modifying mindset

OP you never verified the 498bhp 450tq public magazine quote you said the car was pushing. Is that legit? That would be the highest Ive seen or heard, just wondering.......Surprised nobody else questioned that. Interested to know.

OP, congrats on building such an absolutely gorgeous car. Not many people have the vision and determination to pull this off, definitely magazine worthy. Love the color and wheels.

Also, mad props about your modesty and kind replies to all the haters on this forum. So many negative people on here sometimes...

Yes, could have afforded a M3 but then I wouldn't of had any money left over to put the toys I wanted on it! But with some of the nicer widebody kits coming out now if I had started my build this year, I may have chosen a different path! No worries and I appreciate the time you've taken to share your 2 cents

I'm pretty sure it was because it was run on a dynojet which traditionally run pretty high figures. I'm pretty sure on a dyno dynamic it would be far lower!

I have no idea, what is your issue with me? I apologize in advance if I have done something to offend you but I think that your attacks since last night (which have now been deleted) are unjustified. First of all the car is manual, so if you could stop I would appreciate it.

I'm guessing it isn't legal to ship a US spec M3 from the states to these countries? Or just mad red tape and taxes?

It's a shame; always several on eBay that would seem like a steal for our friends around the world.

I came in here wanting to say "Why not just buy an M3?" But the more I look at this, the more I appreciate the tasteful modification. Well done. I'd rather see a "replica" (though I use that term loosely, since this car, to any BMW enthusiast at least, is very unique) like this than a riced out, tacky Bimmer any day.

Tl;dr: Well done.
