Australian sales numbers are not statistically significant to back up your point of design revulsion manifesting in lower sales.

If memory serves me correct only the 2 series coupe, M2 and certain versions of the 3 series are made in Mexico with that San Luis Potosi has a capacity of up to 300k in cars.

Mexico isn't overseas but majority of sedans aren't coming from Mexico. I would actually be curious to see the breakdown of 3s that come stateside via Mexico. An now many of the 3s made stay in Mexico or go to South America.

Not looking for a he said she said, but that’s incorrect. Aus numbers are statistically significant. And I can personally speak personally about a statistically insignificant sample size of two lost sales

It's been reported that all G20s for US are made in Mexico for MY23. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=150

How does it make sense to continue production of the Z4?
I wonder how the X1/X3 sales compare to Audi and Mercedes

We have an X5
And I agree, it is a fantastic car
And I'm not a fan of SUVs at all

If you see a BMW on the road, it’s very likely to be X5 or X7. Proof is in the numbers. These two models are the volume and growth leaders for entire BMW company.

You mean X3 or X5. X7 numbers are pretty good as well for the big boy of the SUVs.

Sure. I excluded X3 in my post as that car saw a decline yoy versus X5 and X7 having significantly increased. But yes you are correct as ytd numbers for X3 are impressive as well.

Outside the EV market, ALL manufacturers in the US would be “dead in the water”. Ford has one car, the Mustang.

It's kind of sad seeing the slow death of the car. SUV momentum just keeps building and it seems like a matter of time until cars become extremely niche offered by only a small handful of automakers as the domestics have already almost abandoned them.

You're right, there were far more X5 40i on the lots last year compared to almost every other model. M Performance models were scarce across the board. X3 are not as affordable as they used to be either.

Driving my M850i through this last winter has shown me why I hate driving a car in winter, even if it is AWD. God, I miss my X6.

As the age demographic changes, becoming more mature, so do lifestyle needs and SUVs are filling those lifestyle needs.

Take an M850i for example. An X5 (or X6) M50i with the same engine is less expensive and has even a few more luxury features than the 8 series. The cars just are not that attractive in price and features compared to the SUV.

Nobody in their right mind (excluding me) should ever consider buying a new 8 series unless you like being bent over in 36 different ways while getting kicked in the jewels 27 different ways. Ask me how I really feel! A well optioned X6 is absolute GOLD! A well optioned M850i is a steaming pile where you have to literally pay someone to take it off your hands.

Is it resale value that sucks on the 8 series? Or more to it? I would much rather drive a BMW sedan/coupe rather than an SUV. Not necessarily an 8 series though.
