Question. I installed a brand new injector then removed it a few minutes later then reinstalled it about 30 second after that. Should I have replaced the seal or is it not necessary in this case because it was brand new?

It should be ok just try not to go through this too much as you are risking damaging the injector bore in the head.

I recently did my injectors and forgot the clip on one immediately after installing mine and had it out within a few minutes at most, put the ring on and installed it again and had no issues with it at all so I think you'll be fine too!
