Up for sale is my 2011 BMW 335i 6MT sedan (E90). I purchased this car in September of 2017 with 70,000 miles on the odometer. Since then, I have just about replaced everything that could break on the car, all the way up to a brand new factory N55 motor being installed in April of 2018. The car currently has just over 99,000 miles on it, with the new motor (along with many other new parts) having under 16,000 miles logged. The new motor has a complete BMW parts warranty coverage that extends to late April, 2020 with no mileage restriction. All work done to the car under my ownership was handled by technicians of my choice at BMW Portland. The car runs and drives brilliantly, and shows no codes and has no issues. Just last week I had a fresh oil change and inspection done at BMW Portland, with documentation showing that everything checks out perfect.

The car is painted Alpine White on Black Dakota Leather and is optioned with factory M-Sport package, 6 speed manual, H/K premium sound, Premium package, Moonroof, Xenon headlights, and full Ipod/USB connectivity with the stock head unit.

When I purchased the car in 2017, it was bone stock. Over my time of ownership I have modified the vehicle with the intention of building a fun, yet still useable and refined street car. A full list of modifications can be found below:

Performance modifications:

Wheels: APEX ARC-8 wheels finished in Hyper Black. Staggered fitment with 18x9” ET30 front and 18x9.5” ET35 rear.

Tires: Michelin PS4S tires, 235/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear. Fronts have 50% tread left and rears have around 30% tread left.

Suspension: ST coilovers (set to 1/2” lower in the front and 1/4” lower in the rear compared to factory M-Sport suspension), OEM E9X M3 mono ball upper and lower front control arms, Dinan spec “Stage 3” alignment with -2.0 degrees of camber up front.

Brakes: Stock M-Sport calipers with OEM BMW pads and Stoptech drilled rotors

Engine: VRSF catless downpipe (OEM catted downpipe included), VRSF 7” front mount intercooler, VRSF aluminum charge pipe, BMW Performance exhaust, MHD Stage 2+ software (Includes OBD2 cable to adjust preferences). Engine pulls strong and smooth, with consecutively clean logs to back it up.

Transmission/Clutch: OEM BMW F10 550i clutch and pressure plate (OEM clutch feel, but much stronger engagement and torque limits), BMW Performance short shift kit with weighted ZHP shift knob, BMS clutch delay valve.

Cosmetic modifications: BMW Performance black kidney grills, Bimmian front paint matched reflectors, LUX 180 LED angel eye bulbs, Nokia 2500k yellow fog light bulbs, BMW performance stitched alcantara shift boot, e-brake boot, and aluminum e-brake handle, BMS Billet 4” black exhaust tips.

I have a full stack of repair orders, receipts, and other maintenance related documentation that I can include with the car on request. During my ownership I have replaced the following items:

-Full cooling system refresh with water pump and thermostat
-Valve cover gasket
-Oil filter housing gasket
-High Pressure fuel pump
-Fuel pressure regulator
-New clutch (upgraded OEM) just before the new motor was installed
-Full suspension refresh with upgraded control arms + alignment
-New front brakes with Stoptech rotors
-All warranty/recalls taken care of
-New battery
-All new motor complete with new spark plugs, ignition coils, injectors and a lot of extras
-Cabin filter and engine air filter
-Diff, trans, and brake fluid flushes
-Oil changes every 5-8k miles
-New wiper blades

Thank you, I feel the same way! I am aware the price is a bit high, but the fact that it has a brand new motor in it with a warranty justifies that price. Any 335i over 60k miles is going to need a few thousand in maintenance done. In the case of this car, pretty much everything that would need to be replaced has been already. I would think the slightly higher asking price would be well worth the confidence in buying a car that is already sorted out.

Also have a 2011 335xi where the engine blew a rod bearing. New engine was put in by BMW. Went for a road trip 8hrs each way and the car was strong with no hesitation. To anyone looking at this gents post, I wouldn’t be scared off at all.

Honestly, I figured there would be more interest given the motor was a brand new factory fresh shortblock with all the goodies straight from Germany. Plus it was installed by a BMW master tech at a BMW dealer, with a full no-questions asked warranty until late next spring.

Any high mileage N55 is going to be a risk, especially around 80-100k miles. Total peace of mind with this car considering the work done to it and the documentation to back it up.

I'm really not sure why the motor would scare people away. If it was a used or rebuilt unit replaced by an indy or myself, I would totally understand (and the asking price would be MUCH lower). However, it is a brand new unit shipped over from Germany, installed by a BMW dealer, AND has a warranty to back it up.

I do feel like this time of year is proving difficult to sell a car such as this in the PNW.
