BMW PE + AFE Midpipes?
Been thinking of doing this to get more sound out of the PE. I've also been thinking about headers, but those are gonna be much more costly for me to do. Anyone have any experience with BMW PE + AFE midpipes?

Keep the second cats in place. Save up for the headers and a tune. You will get much more power from the car that way, and your car won't smell as it would if it were completely catless.

Thanks! Thats the route I was kinda leaning towards, even though its quite a bit more expensive. Is the 3 stage intake manifold also worth doing along with the headers and tune?

much louder then PE along plus lots more popping, sound level still manageable for street use, no drone.

Using the same combo and the sound is nice. Or you can go cheap and get a muffler delete. It's actually not too bad and it's pretty loud.

header will increase lower only a bit, but much louder pass 4500rpm. combine mid and header, way too loud and drone for street with even PE at the rear.

I suggest removing your entire stock exhaust, then mounting your midpipes, then clamping on the PE once the mid-pipes are in place.

If you can get your stock mid-pipes out without dropping the PE then go for it, I just think it'll be alot easier to get the AFE mid-pipes and PE lined up correctly when it's all on the car vs. sitting freely on the ground.
