Looking for a 330D M Sport
I've started the hunt for another 330D M Sport, looking at either an E90 or E91. Prices seem to be all over the place and not many on offer near me, with what I want.
I want an Auto box and looking for something in the region of 4 to 5k purchase. I saw one yesterday at a trader down in Gloucester, when I spoke to the guy, he described it as great condition with just a small parking dent in one door. When I got there, it was covered in cobwebs, bird shirt and had damage to the rear bumper, dents and scuffs everywhere and the interior trim was all pealing away, this was up for £4995. Now I realise I'm not going to get a mint condition at my price. I've found a couple more which I've listed below, are they at the right money? Maybe they are owners from here? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...5169939496147/ https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...4633583745016/ https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1537627119683/ |

I bought my 2007 e91 manual for 3250 over a year ago, with 122000 on it...it's by no means immaculate, but was in good cosmetic and decent mechanical condition I'd say. OK, it was an eBay gamble which paid off (though I've spent about £1500 in tyres and parts since), but goes to show that you can find good ones if you look hard enough and have some luck. I guess I also have the safety net of doing my own spannering... Anyhow, just keep an eye out, and if there's anything wrong or weird, just walk away.

I'm still looking. The one in the 3rd link didn't drive great, the gear changes on the auto box weren't very smooth, so I walked away (there were also a few issues inside and just wasn't happy with the way the viewing went)
The one in the 2nd link, is proving very difficult to view, he's never available and takes ages to get back to me, probably is just busy with work like he's said. I've located another one which isn't far from me. It's older on a 2005 and has 123k. He's owned it for 10 years, but it's never had a gearbox service. Is that likely to be an issue? Also waiting to hear back from another one, which is a lot newer with 20k less miles, but it's another 3k in price |

No direct experience of auto boxes, but I think it'll just need a service as soon as you get it, to keep it healthy and smooth out the shifts.
Good luck |

Little update....
I went and tested the newer LCI one first and it was in very poor condition, despite the advert saying it has had anything its ever needed, it had loads of errors on the iDrive as most of the bulbs had blown. Gearbox was jerky and a loud noise from the rear, which I'd say was a wheel bearing. He wasn't willing to budge on his 6.5k price. The 2005 drove lovely, gearbox was smooth just an issue with the passenger headlight (see my other post) Knocked £500 off and did a deal. The bumper could do with a respray and the aircon needs a regas |
