Yes I saw that too. Not sure if that means some vehicle have been added to the recall or not.

A service advisor at momentum BMW in Houston posted this telling locals to pm him their vins saying it's in effect basically..but BMWUSA.com still shows zero recalls for me.

Edit: He also said it's very few cars that will get it done. Sad day.

Considering that when my 2008 went for HPFP and injectors recall replacement tech installed index 9 with out decouples I think is good that not a lot of n54 will get new injectors with this new recall or all lot of n54 will get butchered at dealerships lol I will take injectors however....Besides most have index 12 nowadays anyway

Did anyone's VIN get tagged yet?, from what I can see my car's last owner didn't do any recalls from my carfax standpoint there is no service history, I still have 1 index 7 which leads me to believe that they have never been done but I need someone's opinion on this, currently it still shows 0, and it will be a really sad day if I find out that I cant get that recall since my whole bank 2 is leaking right now

Did you get all index 9s or just the misfiring cylinders?

Cuz index 1's were expensive af to manufacture and they were tryna cut costs like all companies do.. so they tried to revise them and ended up biting the bullet on 12 different revisions instead lol

Is this fact? Cause expensive af translates to me as much better quality. Are we saying no matter how old the injector 1's are, they are much better quality than the 12th revision? Again I hear 1's rarely ever fail no matter the mileage.

Hey all, I gave my local dealer a call today since I fall into the range for the recall, figured I might as well see if they had any info on it. As Im sure most of you could have expected — nothing.

I think (and hope) that what's going on is that the service centers just don't all have the info on it yet. After all, the OP and various other sources that have talked about the new recall have mentioned that it will take a while for all the dealers worldwide to get the memo.

If this all turns out to be real that'd be real nice as I'm like 90% sure that my car is on its original injectors, so a new set of index 12's would be much appreciated.

Best of luck to anyone else trying to figure this out!

Stay on index 1, as they fail rate is extremely low

Looks like no one has been able to confirm by VIN, meaning it might take a few more weeks... besides confirming by VIN, has anyone been able to get a yes from a dealership?

I called all 3 of my local-ish dealerships and they claimed to know nothing and the one that said they will follow up never called me back.

I have called my local BMW dealership and gave her the SIB and she said that it might take longer to show up in their system since it just came out about a week ago, and that she somehow heard about it.
I'm getting nervous now

so I just called again and they said my vehicle got that SIB done back in 2011 but it was not performed with Index 12 injectors (she confirmed that was not the part number they installed)

Now I am wondering if they will honor this new "recall" and get me the latest version.... I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens

Hey Guys,

I came across this thread, and I have a build date of 07/2007. 335i n54 6 manual

Since I'm in the middle of finishing up a walnut blasting I went out to the garage to check which index I have. From front to back of engine it's index 9-4-4-9-4-4.

Does this mean they have been changed before? Would they originally all been index 1?

I'm only 3 months into ownership so still learning everything

Thank you
John

Interesting. My 135 is on the range, being produced on 10/2007. It has had previously all injectors changed to index 9, which failed when I upped the boost and I had to shell out for a full set of 12's. I wouldn't mind getting a full set of new 12's as spare parts and waive the labor of changing them. I'll ping my local dealer who has been surprisingly supportive once others start to get positive signals that their VIN's are within the range of this recall.

Until BMW officially announces this to be an active recall it's all pretty much just speculation and rumors at this point.

Let's give it some time without getting our hopes to up.
