Supposedly ABC is doing a story on the BMW fuel pump issues and it might run on Oct. 26th on Good Morning America and Nightline.

Exactly, which is foolish but I do agree that it's time for BMW to step up to the plate and fix this for good.

.........somebody of importance got "snubbed" by BMW. It was bound to happen. All they had to do is say, "How may I help you? The issue will be addressed immediately. We apologize for your inconvenience and valuable time"

I wish I was in the market to buy one, so I can show the salesman the video on my i-phone and tell him to knock the price way down.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

True but I wouldn't call them idiots. If i knew that the car was so problematic, i would have leased something else instead of buying the 335. I hope this really opens BMW's eyes on this issue. I mean they had almost 4 years to fix the issue and they were dumb enough to put the same pump in the N55! Its a major problem and a major inconvenience too. It usually takes multiple dealer visits and a lot of wasted time to get it fixed....until it breaks again. Technology has advanced so much that there shouldn't be these kind of issues.

This will be fun to watch. I'd really be happy if they tied ethanol and inconsistant dosing as the root of the problem.

It can also drive the prices down for perspective buyers which is awesome, and it will also make the dealership no able to say they will not warranty the fuel pump because of the mods because I am sure the story in the news are describing cars that are totally stock...Its good for us modded folks around here

Really, here's what happened:

Some guy in a bar is drinking with his friends and he makes a statement.."I can make 15,000 BMW owners DVR an episode on Pee-Wee Herman's trial on a special aired on Good Morning America"

The other guy: Really, how are you going to do that...a six pack says you can't do it.

Some guy: Hold on; order me another beer and som' wings bee-aattcchhh, I have to make a post on a BMW forum; I'll be right back....my laptop is in the car.

You're on!!! Add a steak dinner to the bet.

It's the fifth straight year of this problem. Even a co. as smug as BMW couldn't possibly expect that nobody would notice. Even as a BP shareholder I believed they should be fined and be made to pay retribution, because we live in a society. I can always make the 20 grand back that I lost. The damage they did will take a lifetime to correct. I am against irresponsibility, but all for hunting baby seals.
