335is exhaust questiond

Does the 335is exhaust still have stuffing and sound deadening and perforated pipes?

I want to make my exhaust louder and better while staying stock so I don't get tickets.

Right now I have downpipes and MHD tune with full burples.

What are the laws in your area regarding exhaust note? Aftermarket modification?

Well, I don't really care for noise tickets as it's easy to control when I see a cop.

It's just for example, if my muffler box is not there or wouldn't look to stock and he takes a peek under that's a salty ticket and inspection. Not having cats etc... I'm catless DP and N54 has 4 cats so I still have my 2 cats under so that's good to.

With my downpipes and tune, no way he can give me inspection or exhaust not stock ticket. Loud ticket yes because of the crazy pops, but nothing more.

For example other day got pulled over cop saw me accelerate quickly to about 120km/h so still some what legalish. He followed me from afar to see if I would do higher speeding. Then he was next to me and I guess heard my exhaust pop and that is when he stopped me.

He checked my factory tinted windows and under my car lmao. Just trying to find something to give me it was pretty funny. Didn't get anything.

I'm not 100% certain but I think I saw a thread a while ago about someone taking all the internals out of their muffler, so it keeps the OEM look. Not sure how that would sound though.

Yeah, don't want it to be crazy loud either.

Maybe just a bit louder and maybe sound better ish? I plan on removing the fiberglass dog hair thing and putting in straight pipes instead of perforated ones.

That sounds like a good idea. Muffler Delete itself on the N51/2 isn't that loud at all ((in my opinion)). So I would figure putting straight pipes instead of perforated in the muffler sounds about right for what you are looking for.

If you do the golf tee mod on the 335is mufflers, it will sound almost verbatim to the Performance Exhaust mufflers

I've unplugged the valve til I got the car.

So I guess there's no more getting louder unless I replace some actual parts

I have catless downpipes, vibrant 1792 resonators in place of secondary cats, magnaflow 2.5 inch xpipe replacing the factory xpipe and 335is mufflers with golf tee mod. Sounds clean and hard af with MHD aggressive burbles. It scares people on the sidewalk loud lol

I'm afraid removing second cats, don't know if a cop could see that.

I think they only check your back muffler box?

You'll be fine. It sounds very tame when you are out of boost. I have the burbles set to my sport button so I turn off the burbles when police are around and feather the throttle to keep the noise down.

You'll probably gain 5-10 hp from a secondary cat delete as well at stage 2+ boost levels.

Of you are looking for more noise, get rid of the H pipe & replace it with a SS X-pipe.

Get rid of the secondary cats & replace with 1792 Vibrant High Flow Resonators, in order to eliminate drone and rasp.

Consider high flow cats or catless downpipes & a tune.

If you go with a tune, make sure your plugs & coils are new. Make sure that your turbos & injectors are healthy.
