Back in Taiwan with the McLaren! Pictures FIXED, Porsche GT3, SLR, and more!
edit: Sorry about the pics not working before, it should be working now.
As usual per my yearly visit, I'm back in Taiwan visiting family for the winter holidays, New Years, and Chinese New Year as well. And as usual, visiting family means visiting dad, and visiting dad means more supercar experiences. I got a new camera and a new cell phone too, so no more "crappy iPhone 4s pics" as the community here loves to point out. This was a good trip. I got to spend time with my familys' cars: 2013 McLaren MP4-12c, 2005 Mercedes McLaren SLR, 2008 Bentley Continental GT Speed, 2012 Porsche Cayenne Diesel, 2012 Mercedes Benz S350, and a 1996 Mercedes Benz S600 Coupe. Went to car shows and shopped around for new cars such as the 2013 Tesla Model S 60 kWh, 2014 Porsche 991 911 GT3, 991 911 Turbo, Cayman, Boxster, Panamera, Mercedes Benz AMGs, BMW 4 Series, Audi R8s, etc. Sadly he sold his 2012 Ferrari 458 Novitec, it was just too problematic. But hey, the McLaren is mighty fast, I mean 10.55 sec 1/4 mi stock? That's no joke. Without further ado here are the pics. Some are taken with my HTC One and my dad's iPhone 4, but most are taken with my new Sony HX30v. You can instantly tell by the quality which pics are taken by the camera and which ones are taken by the cell phones. Lets start with the McLaren The AC controls on the door were pretty cool. I love those lights. Door handle and window controls. Meridian audio system, never heard of Meridian before though. Mmmm, those carbon fiber seats. The McLarens. Carbon ceramic brakes! I gotta say, I drove this thing a few times, and the way it carries speed is mind-blowing. I've never driven anything that just felt so fast, I could feel pressure in my eyeballs. I do miss the passion of the Ferrari 458 and the engine note. The Ferrari is a much more exciting drive, but it is definitely not as fast as the McLaren. I've been in my friend's Nissan GTR, and even though he claims he's beaten the MP4-12C before, it certainly didn't feel as fast. But then again, my dad's model is the 2013 model with the upgraded horsepower. Now the SLR. Even though the SLR is a slower car than the MP4-12C, when on the freeway that torque just feels so immense. From a roll I think the SLR can take it, that supercharger whine combined with the low rumble of the engine really is intoxicating. Such a difficult car to drive though. Now the Bentley Continental GT Speed. ] SPEED!!! 2014 Porsche 991 911 GT3. We are thinking about purchasing this one in this exact color sometime in the next few months. 6 point racing harness!!! gah blurry!!! crap So weird to see paddle shifters in a GT3, alas thats the way it is these days. The rest of the stuff like the other Porsches, the Tesla, Porsche Panamera, and some other cars from the small local car show. 2014 Porsche 991 911 Turbo S BMW 4 Series Convertible, I did not show BMW enough love that day. 2012 Tesla Model S 60 kWh http://tinypic.com/r/aky169/5 The door handles pop in and out. The Tesla key fob is so cool. I have vids of the McLaren, SLR, and Bentley on the road, but I'll upload those later. Enjoy the pics for now!

I finally figured out what your dad's occupation is... he's a wizard.
Awesome pics, as usual, and the upgraded camera enhances these threads in a major way.

I think the problem might be internet explorer. I'm using chrome, and it works fine. I tried opening this thread on internet explorer and I noticed some pics were missing also.

I use Chrome and they showed up fine when I first responded to the thread but are now showing broken links. Weird.

The bentley isnt a waste of money if OPs dad enjoys it. It isnt always about 0-60 times and 1/4.
