We have both on two of our vehicles. THE BMS is for the high side and Mishimoto the low. The Mishimoto catches way more oil. The Mishimoto is a 1/4 full every thousand miles or so while the BMS has a couple drops of oil in it in the same period.

I guess if you would run wot a lot then the high side would catch more.

I dont track my car. I just want something that will keep the oil vapors out of my intake system so I wont have to walnut blast my intakes again.

Can a catch can potentially do this? All I've read is that it will extend the need to clean them by like 10k miles, not worth it IMO if that's the case.

Supposedly, but the typical OCC everyone runs isn't going to do much but keep oil out of the intake tract (intercooler, charge pipe). I don't have any anecdotal evidence. Here's what RB Turbo has to say though:

"Another big perk of running an external PCV system is that you can finally eliminate the constant "building up" on your intake valves by inserting an Oil Catch Can into the low load system which is now finally possible. Most of the contamination found on intake valves is in fact due to low load oil collections in everyday usage through the Internal PCV valve and into head ports, which builds up as gunk on your intake valves over time. This is best done by adding in your own Oil Catch Can (not included) and you’ll see first hand this accumulation building in your can rather than on your valves, which you will need to drain at a mileage interval."

https://www.rbturbo.com/rb-n54-external-pcv-kit

He also recommends using the Mishimoto OCC but this isn't a BMS vs Mishimoto debate. The BMS OCC goes on the high side, however Mishimoto also sells a high side kit with the same hoses and stuff. Regardless of which brand you went with, it wouldn't do anything to keep your valves clean without the external PCV setup.

Again, I have no evidence of an external PCV setup even keeping the intake valves clean aside from what RB claims. I'm simply providing the information that I found on the subject a few months ago.

BMS High side kit & the FULL RB low side kit with Mishimoto and block head ports etc. It's expensive but do it once and do it right imo.
