has anyone tried the map which only the tune is enabled and the throttle control is off? Can someone please try it and tell me if you can still feel a difference?

It just means you can switch the tune off and just run the throttle remapping or vice versa.

I can break traction from 1st, through second once it gets going lol

the PBX is the best upgrade out for the n52.

But I have light wheels and tires and no muffler to hold down the back tires.

Regarding the mpg comments, I'm on map three and driving as I normally do (usually just in D mode), and my mpg has gone up too!

I'm happy with it performance wise as well!

Can anyone point me to some data on what sort of power improvement the Powerbox tune provides on a 330i (or Z4 3.0si)? The only real numbers I've seen are for the 328i.

Hard to tell what my gas mileage should be since I'm running on WS-60's now. I was at 13l/100km on my rft's and now its up to 13.5l/100km.

Yeah, my skinnier, lighter snow tires/wheels improve gas milage a bit too, sometimes up to 10% on the highway. OEM tires/wheels are so heavy. Go figure.

Congrats,
It would be great if you could do a Dyno at Map 0 and Map 3, I'm very curious on what is the actual Horsepower gain if any on the 330 manual

Thanks

I do, it's just as wonderful as everyone else here says. Not so sure about the gas mileage improvements, but I'm sure that has to do with how much heavier my foot got when i put in the tune

Talking 2008 323i - Now this is the way it should have been sold

After reading this thread, I decided to jump in and give it a try. So, I am sitting here with a big grin on my face as I have just finished and Waahooooo!!!

The installation was as documented, but here are some things I found.

Take your time. It will take you about two hours, this is not a race and you don't want to mess up. Instructions are very clear, read them over a couple of times before you start. You will spend most of your time removing and replacng the cowl, etc. The actual connection of the wires was 10 minutes.

Make sure you don't knock off the speed nuts that hold the cowl in place. There are two of them, one on each side. I had a spare.

ECU cover is a pain to put back on. Hint... remove the two black clips and insert them after you have seated and locked the ECU cover down.

Also, if you move the rubber cover on the left side, back a bit, the cover will slide into place easier.

When you insert the new wires into the connectors, always in set them with the little tab up, so that if you ever want to remove this, you can disengage them by just pressing the tab down with a little screwdriver.

All in all, the throttle response is noticeable right away, waiting for the power to come on as that is supposed to take a couple of days.
