Key FOB battery
Throwing the 335 in the garage for the winter pretty soon. Any suggestions on keeping the key fobs from dying or is it just inevitable?

I assume you have non-CA? The battery shouldn't die by spring. One of my fobs has gone unused for a full year, no battery problems.

Oh. Yeah, in that case, just take them out. Not that the battery should asplode on you in 3 months of non-use...

Remember the Car Battery
You might have already thought of this but don't forget about the car battery. If you leave it sitting for awhile the battery will drain. I just left the dealer Friday because my FOB wouldn't work properly with comfort access. I was told that I didn't "drive" the car enough and the battery drained making some remote functions not work properly.
Since I have a convertible, I am doing the same thing and keeping my E93 up for the winter. Solution - I bought an "Advanced Battery Charging System" from BMW. Cost $70. It plugs into the battery connections under the hood and then into an electrical outlet. I think it's worth it so when I get ready to crank it up again I won't have to worry about the battery or paying $500 for a new one. They also make one solar powered but I believe you said it will be in the garage so that won't work. Just a suggestion. |

Ah yes. Agreed. Was definitely gonna buy a battery tender and leave it on there all winter.
Not trying to have to buy a battery right when I want to drive it again after the winter. |
