x2? I just picked up my car and they tried to sell me everything for a ton of $$$. Wheel & Tire protection = $999 Extended Warranty = $2899 Extended Maintenance = $1899 I've read this thread and some others where people say there are combo packages including maintenance & warranty just wondering if those are from BMW, and if there is a SET price. PLEASE HELP!?! (My dealer is an asshole, so I'd like to learn as much as I can before dealing with them again.)

I'm not sure why you would buy the extended maintenance up front on a new car when you can wait until 50k and just buy it then. I would rather have that sum in my pocket since I can buy the maintenance later. Also, what if something changes for you before 50k and you decide to get rid of the car? You certainly don't get that money back from the generous folks at BMW.

I paid $2100 (at cost of dealer since I knew the GM).
10year/100,000 Miles, bumper to bumper, and I can bring the car to >ANY< "ASE" certified mechanic. Did I mention... $0 deductible =] |

$50 /6 months from when you first buy the car to the end the 7th year. cars can only be enrolled in that prior to hitting 15000 miles or 1st year anniversary

So what would be my best option if my car is older than 1 yr./15,000 mi.? I am leasing the car now but was thinking about buying the car when the lease was up. It seems like my only option would be the BMW 7 yr./100k mi. extended warranty for just over $2,000.

I am at 37000 and the warranty expires in June 09 and Tischer in Maryland wants 3400 for the extended warranty please tell me there is something cheaper. Also do they have payment plans because my VW GLI had the extended warranty and they let you pay it off in payments plus if you canceled early you would get money back.

sooo....if I am reading these correctly, there is around a $2000 spread from the lowest to highest dealer?!!??!?! These are BMW warranties/maintenance plans correct....so they can be used at any BMW dealer regardless of where it was purchased?

Today, I purchased the extended maintenance (+2 yr / 100,000 miles) for $2.2k at less than 200 miles to 50k miles remained on my car.
I got a quote for the extended warranty ~$3700 (+ 5 yr / 100,000 miles), which could be financed through BMW finance whereas the maintenance fee had to be paid in whole up front. The extended warranty I got offered was not BMW one, but 3rd party one which had better coverage than BMW one per the finance manager I talked with. I was told that the BMW extended maintenance fee has recently gone up by a lot. I called 5 SF bay area dealerships, but $2200 was the best I could get.

extended maintenance: $1700
when i went to twin kidney grill last month, they weren't offering anymore. However I was able to get ext maint for $1695 good for any dealer and I was at 48K miles. I called 5 places in so cal and played them off each other and basically got $1700 from two places, I ended getting from my dealer that i bought the car. He claimed this was at "his cost". good luck all.

Looking at some of these prices paid to just add 2 extra years of warranty and maintenance coverage, I think I would just get rid of the car at 4 years and put those thousands of dollars that would have been spent for the extended contracts towards a new car instead. Maybe just lease for no longer than the warranty period or buy a vehicle that I had more confidence in the reliability and lower maintenance costs the next time.
