Do these specific resonators remove the droning and rasp in a e93 car with catlless dps, second cats delete and stock muffler? Or i should try another model of resonators?

All 7 pages. I understand that these vibrant resonators remove the rasp and droning in the aftermarket exhausts, but some people told me that with stock muffler the droning is worst than aftermarkets!
Don't be heronic, you are spoiling your very good thread!!!

Not trying to be ironic. Just stating the obvious. Resonators will get rid of the faring tin can sound regardless if u have stock mufflers. As long as u have any type of mufflers, Then with the addition of these resonators will eliminate that frequency which creates this tin can farting sound. I installed them and can't believe they actually did the trick. They work, as for the drone they will minimize it for sure, as far as getting rid of it totally, it's subjective to ones ears and each persons threshold of drone is different. My exhaust actually sounds stock for a catless setup believe it or not!

Thank's for the info. Something else. My stock exhaust pipe is 2.25", should i get 1792 resonators which are 2.5" and modify the end of them or the other model which is 2.25"?

They sell ones that have 2.25 diameter. Get that one. You need inlet and outlet to be same as piping. The resonator itself will be the same size

just came from my exhaust shop. He told me that the stock muffler hasn't any fibergllas inside and has only diafragmas, so if i remove the cats it will be sound like a tin can.
The aftermarket's muffler although they are freeflaw they have fiberglass inside them and with resonators they doesn't rasp.
Has anyone try these vibrant resonators completely catless but with STOCK exhaust???

I guess you need to try it out and let us know if it works...Wow stock mufflers have no fiberglass dampening material. Damn

I have an E92 completely catless with the Vibrant 1792 resonators and stock mufflers. Sounds awesome - there is just little bit of rasp above 6K but not bad. I think that with the stock mufflers you cant completely lose 100% of the rasp but with the resonators its a night/day difference. I recently bought a set of the IS mufflers but I have not had the time to install them yet. I hoping it will be a nice middle ground between the PE and stock.

I thought the rasp and drone is only happens between 2000-2500rpm in light accelaration, how is it possible to rasp and hear it above 6000rpm?

Nice work. Glad to see people get good stuff in cheap price.

I'm going to run catless DP. Since I already got an axle back, I'm going to fabricate a custom X pipe.

I'm thinking to put a set of high flow cats (100 or 200 cell) right after catless DPs. Because some e-check station found out the smell of exhaust is not right, they may put sniff on tail pipe even I have BMS DP fix. Also I hate catless smell too.

Don't know if my route will work or not, how is the smell of your exhaust after put on those resonators?

Resonators are clear pass through flow and doesn't absorb any of the exhaust fumes. All it does is change the frequency of the exhaust wave coming out. You will smell the same amount with or without these resonators.

Thanks for the info.

Do you think I still need resonators or not if I got high flow cats?

HFC reduces drone, Resonators reduce rasp.

Go with both

I would say yes but you can always add the resonators if u don't like the sound. It's called fine tuning your exhaust and only u know what u want and can handle. I wanted full catless with an OEM sound to it. Quiet and tame. My exhaust is that right now. I have Xpipe at the midpipes with resonators and after market mufflers.

Because rasp and drone are two different sounds. Drone has nothing to do with light acceleration - it is the constant sound that can drive you crazy as you are cruising down the freeway at 2000 to 2500 rpm. Rasp is that "tin can" sound you are talking about and I can only hear it when I am deep into a pull.

Before installing the catless DPs, there was slight drone with my exhaust already, and after the DP install without the resonators the car droned more....With the resonators installed there is significantly much less drone to the point I can't really call it annoying and there is less than before the catless DPs!!!!!!...Its a pure DEEP, THROATY exhaust note...In D mode when I hit the gas while cruising, its just moves with no rasp that I exhibited in the lower rpms...Here are some pics but they are really shit.....Blackberry camera phone....My exhaust shop was able to weld both resonators on right before the rear brace...I am now a happy camper and don't sound like a CIVIC!
For anyone that has any type of rasp, to get rid of this annoying rasp, you should consider these Vibrant resonators part #1792 which fits perfectly and cost only 95 bucks shipped...Install cost me 130 bucks...

BTW...I will let you guys know tomorrow when I do a COLD start to see how much of a difference it makes with these resonators, but I will tell you this when the engine is warm and idling the exhaust is definitely less audible than without them...It less of a paper flapping noise/ farting sound!!

I had many exhaust systems on my previous cars, but first time going catless and I wasn't too happy with the sound afterwards, but after installing these resonators, I have to say its sounds very exotic and better than I ever thought it would sound...Looking at the resonators before the install, I would have never guessed it would have dampened the sound of the rasp and change the exhaust tone to the point that it sounds deeper but muffled! Its crazy but this shit works!! lol

i would like to buy these where can i buy them for 95 shipped ?

Streetsideauto was where I bought them about 2 years ago. I am sure they cost a drop more today. 5-10 bucks should not sway you Away from buying them as these resonators single handily made my exhaust a perfect civil tone during cruise and cold startups. When I go WOT thats a different story!
