no sound after coding

hello
replaced ccc with cic for a 2007 with a cic 2010,coded changing date #0909 and $6VA .#609 is also present.
no sound or dings pdc etc. and phone icon on cic is disabled as well.
have top hifi in my car and donor car does not have logic 7,i have donor vin as well
my ccc had ccc professional.
do I need to reverse most cable as cic quad lock is upside down and ccc is other way. And one more weird symptom is steering
buttons to mute turns on fan instead of muting radio.
Please help as to getting sound to work for dings and radio sound etc pdc shows up on screen as well.
Thanks
R

think I found the reason for this issue ,looks like I need to upate AMP with new software for sound to work.
not sure if I need to do default coding using NCSExpert after updating AMP with Winfkp

possible to use wtihout emulator

yes if you script activate then its possible but make sure you know the donor vin as that is needed if you ever need to update maps as vendors can generate fsc code for a vin for cic.

has anyone publicly posted how to script activate? Sucks that so many of these things are still secretes and not shared publicly to fellow enthusiasts. Id personally like to do it cause I want to add a backup cam emulator and don't think i can run two emulators.

The CIC screen from any E series car will fit your car.

Seems to be missing a the center console trim that houses the Controller.

Yeah... Will most likely keep the stock controller until I get my hands on a cic trim. Thanks !

Does the MULF2 work with CIC ? Or can the CIC already do all that without the MULF ?

I got my hands on a MULF 2 but never bothered to install it because it can't stream music and I already have a bluetooth dongle that can so... Guess I need combox...

Yup. CIC is able to work with Mulf2. Once coded properly it should be good to go. I did that for little bit until I bought combox.

I never really had the chance to play with the CIC...

Since the mulf2 is only for usb and for bluetooth(but no audio streaming) am I right ? I will probably leave it out..

What are the things that the combox adds to the CIC ? I am mainly upgrading because I hate the old nav it looks way too outdated.

Looks like you're missing the USB port which you'll need to upgrade maps and such. Mulf2 is for USB music (and bluetooth if you don't have a TCU).

Main benefit of the combox is bluetooth streaming and the ability to pair two phones simultaneously. You can also enable BMW Apps with the combox, though I personally found it to be more of a nuisance than not. Combox will also let you enable internet via tethering, though I don't find this to be a particularly useful feature

Thanks a lot for your answer, really appreciated. Is it able to display the traffic also ?(obviously via tethering)

I guess I need USB and a combox to really take advantage of its features.

You can add decent BT audio to a MULF2 with a tune2air dongle. I have done both tune2air and combox and the only advantage of combox is if you have multiple phones connecting.

For MULF2, you would need to run USB wiring to the armrest and also extend the aux wires to the MULF2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-BMW-CIC-...item25c1d18fc0

Also, did you get the video cable, screen power connector, USB cable to glovebox? Your controller has a few white nicks. A black Sharpe can fix those nicely.

I am currently using a dongle to stream audio but it's annoying because I can't see the track name and I can't hit next from the steering wheel. I am hoping to have it completely integrated in the car.

The AUX cannot stay where it currently is ? ( I guess this would only be for MULF2, not combox ? )

The seller told me there are a couple more cables that he didn't take a picture of... I got what I consider a good deal on the kit so if something is missing I guess I'll just order it from somewhere.

The tune2air will show track name on the screen and allow steering wheel skips. The single Aux is replaced with a AUX/USB plug. You may want to sell the mulf2 and buy a combox. The combox install is a little more complicated but you will not need to run wires to the armrest if you use only BT audio. Combox also uses the usb in the armrest for software updates so you may need a temp usb connection to update to current and probably final versions of the software.

Thanks for the info. Just got what I believe is all the parts. Will start installing now... never took the dash apart on this car... not exactly sure how to do it, looking for DIYs.

I also forgot my laptop at my gfs place and won't have access to it until tonight... Will it work at all before any coding ?

Thanks everyone, after install and coding it works as it should. Not sure yet if I want to retrofit combox also. I'll think about it.

Did the emulator work for both, going around the VIN issue and the rear view camera? I'm doing non I-drive to CIC. Don't really care about rear view camera but would like to use that option to mirror my jb4 mobile app. Please let me know because I see different emulators for sale.
