*Bumping* to get an answer on the weight question I asked yesterday (i.e., how much do the CSL rep front and rear wheels weigh)!

Have you guys weighed them yet?

We have plans for both the 230 and the newly released BMW Performance Wheels. As of now, we have no intentions of replicating aftermarket wheels but that could potentially change in the future.

Not yet. I have requested our factory to forward the weight and will post it once we receive it. We have always kept our weights on the low side so this is something that should not worry you.

The real trick with weight is properly balancing the two objectives of low weight and structural integrity. This is especially critical with cast wheels (and not easily achieved as some vendors -- like Beyern -- err on one side and others -- nameless -- on the other...). I'll be interested to see how you guys do with this.

I'll be the first on your list if you make this wheel in 19". Any idea when they might be available?

There is no real trick when balancing low weight and structural integrity when it comes to reproduction wheels. When designing a wheel from scratch then yes that is very important, but the key factor when manufacturing a replica wheel is manufacturing quality. I`m leaning to believe that most replica wheels out there are gravity cast. I have only heard of bent M6 reps and out of round CSL reps. This is very unlikely to happen with a Low-Pressure cast wheel. We are the same company that manufactured the 19" 162 that was sold a few years back. The wheel was 1" larger and .5" wider and only weighted 1.5lb over the OEM 162 18" wheel. After over 2 years we never heard a case of bent wheels and vibrating issues.

We have not seen any in person. Once BMW brings it over and we can get a hold on one we will certainly make it. It is a nice mix between Style 249 and Style 167M. We have a LOT of wheels that we would like to make for you guys so priority will be given to the ones with highest demand.

We don't want to put a date until we have everything on schedule but if we see a lot of interest on style 249 or the new BMW performance wheel we`ll give it priority over other projects.

i don't want to sound like the bad guy here, but wouldn't BMW AG or BMW USA have something to say about a reproduction product that is marked as a BMW product?? Also, i found that having the GERMANY stamp on the back side for a product that is made in China/Taiwan is kind of disturbing....

that's just my 2 cents......
