It all depends what you're into. If you really want to use BMW brands for everything, including BMW soap , by all means, use it There are other car wash brands on the market that are probably just as good, though.

Does anyone have the part number for the wood trim pieces that are not available in the U.S.? In particular, cars I have seen in the U.K. for example, get wood trim on the steering wheel...but here in the U.S., we do not.

Does anyone know what the part number(s) would be for wood trim (Poplar) on the E90 Sport steering wheel? Thanks.

This is also of interest to me - I want the Aluminum trim piece that would fit the U.S. 330i Sport Package steering wheel.

That can't be true......there were pictures in brochures with the trim pieces that we are discussing. They may not be publicized in accessories brochures, but they do indeed exist.

Someone needs to look at the European parts database or microfiche or whatever is used to look up accessories & other parts by use of a schematic.

This is not Aluminium, it the one called Titanium (plastic). If you order Aluminium, you get a black insert.

I find it amazing and appalling that the E91 touring is now just 14 days away from launch and yet BMW (UK) STILL do not have a full brochure available for the car. A very brief preview brochure was produced (containing some errors) and the price list is now (just) out, but as for the full brochure, still no sign.

I phoned BMW customer services yesterday who said that it would be available "at some time in the Autumn"!!!

My local dealer tells me that they have had hundreds of requests for a full brochure and still the penny hasn't dropped with BMW UK Headquarters!

As it stands, I will be driving the car before I'm able to read a proper sales brochure for it. I know of no other manufacturer that so arrogantly relies on selling cars without providing customers with the proper information up front.

The posted picture is different from one I saw that had me asking the question. I thought it might be the European Titanium option but it was hard to tell in the other picture I saw.

Why would BMW have picture of the wood steering wheel trim on page 14 of the US Accessories Brochure and then not have the option of ordering it? The fact they show wood makes me assume that an aluminum part would also at least be in the works, if not yet available, since that is the case with all other wood/aluminum accessories.

Because BMW only takes one set of photos & then uses them for both the European & U.S. brochures.

If the car is ordered with wood trim in Europe, then the steering wheel is fitted with wood instead of aluminum, or plastic or whatever that is in the above photo. So yes, there HAS to be a part number made available for replacement in BOTH cases.

The Irish Come To The Rescue!

I've go the Irish 3er accessories brochure. Here is the part number for the poplar steering wheel trims and prices in Euros: (for wheels with multifunction buttons) 32 20 0 397 811 313.01 Euros. I also am looking for the part number for the sport wheel 1er trim ring which I think is the same finish as the interior door pulls (both sport wheels are the same, but I think the trim is different- with the 1er a better quality and match since US cars don't get the titanium matte dash trim.) Can anyone help with that part number?

Don't you think the word "Appalling" is a bit strong for this particular situation?

In the US, the only reasons the car brochure exists is to insure the employment of many graphic designers and to give customers an excuse to exit the dealership after having test driven a vehicle... "I'll have to think about it, can I get a brochure with your card?"

Personally, No!

Other manufacturers manage to get the brochures out around 3 months before a car launches - why not BMW?

By the way, the UK brochure arrived in dealerships last week.

I would not buy a car without the full brochure. That's part of the buying process and half the fun.

I'm glad they were a help to you. I just got a BMW Ultimate Ownership package today in the mail and from there you can request to have them mail an accessory brochure to you. But I'm just getting this now and I've had my car since June!

That part number you listed for the Poplar Steering Wheel cover is wrong by one digit:
correct # is 32 30 0 397 811.

Also for anyone that is interested, the part # for the European Titanium Steering Wheel cover (Sport steering wheel w/multifunction buttons) is 32 30 6 771 250.

Taking delivery of a 325i hopefully within next 7 days, have been waiting for like 4 months..black line looks ok, but think if clear white would even be better! (ala the 5 series).

Any pics or will BMW be providing such an accessory?
