Pete was a great resource to this community and definitely belongs in the E90post hall of fame. He surely had forgotten more than I will ever know about these cars and his knowledge will live on through his posts here. Pete was a pillar of the N52 forums but it sounds like he was an even better person in real life. My heart goes out to all who are hurting from his loss. We just lost another E90 enthusiast in the PNW due to a motorcycle accident last month so stay safe out there friends.
My favorite JustPete quote can no longer be found because it was deleted as part of the original BPC N52 turbo thread. Some member (can't recall who) decided to get in a pissing match with Pete about who spent more on mods to their car. This guy claimed he spent $5,000 in the past year on his car and Pete responded that that amount was "lunch money"! Pete said $5,000 is a "rounding error" on his budget. That ended the conversation pretty quickly and still leaves me smiling to this day. I look forward to combing through his old threads for more gems like this one and wisdom from the insane car he built.

I absolutely hate to hear this. He seemed like a good guy, and was always super helpful and fun to speak with - and now that I've seen a photo of him, he even looks like a straight-up good guy.
I hope no one takes this the wrong way.. but man.. some of you may remember he and I going OT here a few times regarding motorcycles. I've always loved them and wanted one myself, and joked about the reasons I've yet to get one (danger). It's so sad to see someone perish for a reason such as that.. I obviously totally get why so many people / families are against their loved ones getting onto a bike. In the end though, we must do what we love, and I hope (assume) that ol' Texas Pete lived a good and fulfilling life, regardless. Cheers, buddy.. I'll pour one out for you. You will be missed, even here on the interwebs. Also, condolences to his family, I really feel for them. I know what it's like to lose someone that is a young(er) age.. it's absolutely awful. |

Rest in peace. The car community has lost a great member for sure.

Such a loss.
Motorcycle was suppose to be fun part, enjoyment of his life, yet it turned out to be the tragedy for the family and a great loss to this community.

Shame. He seemed like a really nice guy. Good to have a conversation with.
Someone should buy his car so it doesn't get sold at auction for pennies. I know if I died I would hope one of my car buddies would either buy my car for a fair price or at least tell my wife what it is really worth. |

Quick Pete story, to illustrate his thoughtfulness and generosity -
Pete had so many "crumbs" / leftovers / spares from the E90 build. When he heard I was installing Recaro buckets in the old car, he graciously offered to give me the bits and pieces needed to complete the project. Just small parts, like the pyro for the SRS, and a few other things. I was thankful that he made the effort to reach out to me, and package the parts and send them. That took time and effort on his part. He wouldn't accept compensation, but I managed to get him a bottle of my favorite locally-distilled whiskey, as thanks. Cheers, Pete!
