A parts list of everything you had to source or change would be ridiculously appreciated

Okay guys I got an update today. I'll be back in NY in 9 days. Will add more pics then.
I hate my amber reflectors on my M3. I kind of like them on this though. I think they'll stay.. for now. Paint has not been buffed yet. Just freshly mounted. Bumper needs to be adjust. Everything else is spot on as expected. Even OEM parts some times fit funny.

Opinions...
I've been looking at roll over M5s and M3 Sedans (which there aren't any in the specs I need) and I can tell its going to take a while for this swap to happen. The M3 is obviously much easier. There isn't any real "custom" parts. The M5 swap will require a lot of time and patience. A lot of extra things I knew I needed to do but blew them off as not that big of a deal. - Stay at it and hopefully find something for spring? - Buy an ESS V1+ SC kit and take my jolly time for the swap? My guess would be a year or so till I find exactly what I need for the swap.

Just curious, if you are willing to share, beyond acquiring the actual e91, how much do you think it will cost for your M3 exterior conversion, and how much are you budgeting for your M3/5 swap?

That V10 tho. But being more realistic yeah, I think M3 will be the way to go. I'm trying hard to locate a sedan but its tough.
I'm honestly not sure how much the M3 exterior will cost me. I'll be honest with you I've been loose on my budget lmao. I still need wheels, tires. And I want this thing to be proper. The M3 swap I'm assuming is going to be a pretty penny. Damn now thinking about it you are making me second guess myself LMAO. I dont know mannnn, the money is gonna flow like water Quote:

So its been pretty slow because I was trying to make a decision on the rear quarters. Very difficult to find them used. I found a guy on eBay that wanted a fortune for both and unwilling to negotiate.
Considered doing a custom widebody which could look very OEM too but I got the impression the wait would be too long and there was a lot of potential to not be happy with the end result. Got in touch with Prior Design to use their rear FRP flares that adds the OEM M3 widebody for a standard E90. Seems like a solid product but the wait time was too long. In the end I just picked up the phone and called Prestige BMW again. One side has been delivered. Waiting for the other side to come in. Picked up some black M3 seats off eBay. Got a nice deal. They are E92 seats, I'm going to attempt swapping the bottom frame and panel from my stock seats. If it doesn't work I'll just resell them. The standard seats are just crap. Really no idea how this comes on a BMW. Its like a flat bench. Also bought BMW Performance 135i Front Calipers from forum member 545iMike. Thank you! Picked up some used OEM ZCP wheels. Still looking for the driver side M3 mirror. Already have the passenger.

If you're looking for M3 E90 parts, pm me.
Know someone that bought a salvaged M3 E90 and is taking the engine for his E46 GTR project. I'm sure you can manage to find some parts you need from the car and save you some money. Got my M3 mirrors from him but he's all the way over here in California though. Last edited by AK.; 09-28-2015 at 11:24 PM.. |

So here a few pictures. The other new quarter finally came in from the dealer. Coilovers are also in. I think I might pee myself when I see my perfectly good quarter panel get chopped up. This is not a junk car. Never been in a accident. No dings. I'm just an idiot and want to make an M3-style wagon.

Bought an E46 M3 Vert, also trying to get her going. This is just a little fun project, by no means is she like my old girl.
I've had a bunch of these... this is my favorite, the original OG. Too pretty and had too many amazing parts. Bought it brand new and was in impeccable shape.

A few picture updates. I still can't believe I cut a perfect quarter panel... moving on. There are a few ways to integrate the M3 quarters, this is what we chose. I've seen a bunch of different cuts.
Progress is slow... I know. Its giving me time to gather other goodies. Brand new OEM M3 powerfold mirrors with Carbon caps... yes please. Got some awesome tips with the ///M engraving for the custom exhaust system.
