Did you have the same click noise? Did changing the Center support bearing solve the mystery? Thanks.

I just had it re-packed. The sound when away. It's back now but it's been over 5 years since I had that repair done.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if it was difficult to repack the center support bearing? Mine has been clicking for almost a year and an indy shop said there was a bulletin on this problem and that they can pack some really thick grease in the spline part of the driveshaft which goes into the front of the differential, but I'm not sure which way I should start. Thanks again.

I had the car inspected and they said it doesn't seem to be anything thats hurting the car, but they couldn't find what it was.

I'll bring up this center support bearing next time I go in to my Indy shop.

I think I'm experiencing the same thing - particularly noticeable when I am parked in my garage and I reverse out of it (park -> reverse), not so much when I go from reverse to drive though. If you still have warranty (regular or CPO), this would be covered under it right?

i have a 2003 325i 4 door automatic need some help when ever i shift from reverse to drive i can hear a clunk anyone know what it could be
