New shift knob - ///M Performance for F30

Hi guys,

installed my new shift knob today and thought I would share it with you.

It's a ///M Performance knob from the F30. I really like the look and feel. It matches the carbon wrapped interior perfectly and is also a blast to drive compared to the original knob.

I read somewhere it isn't a direct fit. Did you need to use the e9x Performance alcantara boot and the F30 Performance knob?
Looks very good!

It isn't a direct fit. The F30 knob is attached to the boot. I had the idea of using the E90 Performance boot but I didn't want to break anything so I just took the F30 boot and pulled it over the E90 plastic thingy the original boot was attached to (the plastic frame you use to attach the boot to the center console). It wasn't hard to do and fits pretty good.

I had a heck of time trying to use the e90 ring with the F30 boot.
I had to go with the performance boot, and paired it with the ebrake.

Just looked it up. $150 plus shipping. Really interested in getting one as well.

I found the f30 knob on here and bought boots from tischer prob $150 for knob and boot. And $105 for ebarke. Sold the f30 boot on here for $20 so total out around $240ish for everything.

I have 2011 BMW 328i sedan automatic. If I purchase this I should have no problems with the install in terms of compatibility?

Wasn't bad at all for me. Was it hard to seperate the knob from the boot in order to install the E90 boot? That was my plan if the installation of the F30 boot wouldn't succeed.

You will have problems, because you have an automatic - mine is 6 speed manual. It will not fit.

I noticed there is an Auto version on ModB. So that wouldn't work?

This looks bad ass. Great job on getting it to retrofit. I'm going to try the same w/ mine..although I love the way my M sport knob already looks on my E92..
