Pre-LCI Sedan front lower grille (3 pieces) mod

Anyone interested in possibly giving these a test run when I have this scanned and the file 3d printed. Could add strategically placed background LED's. Could paint them gloss black/metallic ruby chameleon shift. I'm a custom fabricator. Any feedback/suggestions?

These look really clean. I was never a fan of the oem lower grills on e90s with the trim piece running through the middle. How does it hold up when installed? I have zero experience with 3D printed car parts. Would love to hear about the process you went through making these.

I just spent half a Saturday trimming a general purpose expandable aluminum sheet to fit. It looks like I did something similar to what you did. I cut almost all of the plastic "grate" out of the OEM pieces, leaving only the circumference with the clip slots plus small bits that I could zip tie to my aluminum sheet.

Did you ever finish a 3D file? If you were satisfied with it, is it still available? I'd probably still be interested. My zip ties aren't pronounced but they are present. I do like that my grates are now glossy black metal, though.

I think this could be a great way to make custom plastic parts for our vehicles. I would like a grate that would have mounting points for Universal fog lights like the Morimoto XB (they don't make a light for the non-M bumper).

If designing from scratch, I would incorporate a way to connect a direct cold air connection to the brake cooling opening. This could be a separate part from the 3-D printed grates. Highly desireable for any of the track guys.
