Exclamation Rim Blades - Failed

Anyone else tried this product?

http://www.rimblades.com/

I fitted them to my 230 wheels not long ago and just refitted to the car.

First outing and they failed.

One came off at 70mph, marked the wing with a bang and the car behind swerved to avoid it!

I followed installation guides meticulously and even did the fitting indoors in 20C dry temperatures.

Obviously being Easter I cannot contact the vendors who are local to me in Taunton.

So just wondering what your experiences are in the mean time?

I always questioned their function.

When driving a car hard you do get lots of tyre movement. It was always likely they could come undone.

I hope the damage isn't bad.

Could it be that maybe it was just a bad batch piece? this is an issue with the adhesive aspect? are the other three still holding strong?

LOL at car behind had to serve, sounds all epic and hollywood. Still though I guess its not funny.

And:.... did you recover said rimblade?

From their website

"We do not recommend speeds above 40 mph in the first 24 hours and 60mph in the first week after fitting."

Did you leave them a week before going on the motorway?

Impressive mark up on the product if they are selling for £40!

They were fitted three months ago actually to my spare wheels.
In perfect conditions and exactly to manufacturers guidelines.

One front came of damaging the paint on the wing, the other front was half off.
The rears were still on but have been removed for safety.

So do you have ny experience of these then>?

Have you tried Alloygators?Ive had them for a while now without issue, other than having to have one re-fitted as I over-inflated my tyre, forcing one off the rim-replaced f.o.c.by the installer.
