Question for guys who has aftermarker Rims on their E90
Guys, I am planning on changing my factory run flats to nicer rims (low profile). Question that I have is... being that I have run flats now, I don't have a spare tire (donut) in the car.
People who did install non-runflats aftermarket rims, do you keep a spare in the trunk? If not, then what if there's a flat on the new rims? How do you manage that? Cause there is no special space for a donut in the car, do you just leave the spare bouncing around in the trunk? |

this has been discussed many times already, you can search for it...
but basically, people have bought spares and use cargo nets to keep in place, or just carry along a fix-it can, or go ballsy just rely on AAA/BMW assist |

i have seen most people buy a spare tire kit from tischer bmw i took of the runflats on my previous car and kept my stock rims because of the weight (runflats are heavier)

Well I do have BMW Assist, what if they end up charging being that wheels are after market? But I guess a cargo net around the spare is not a bad idea.
Thanks. |

I generally recommend purchasing a tire tote and strapping it down with the cargo net.
Here's what a forum member did. -Charles@VMRWheels

If I'm going out of town I stow a factory front wheel/tire wrapped in a sheet face down in the trunk held in place by a rubber bungee strap. I can use the fully protected "dish" of the wheel to hold misc stuff like wheel chocks, towels, gloves, etc. I have a scissor jack, breaker bar and appropriate deep-well socket under the little hatch in the trunk. Everyone who is running non-RFT's has their own emergency plan & the above set up is very clean - I assume he has a jack hidden in the center of that wheel/tire.

I carry one of these under the trunk floor: http://www.canadiandriver.com/2004/1...air-system.htm
I believe Tire Rack sells the Continental version.
