I agree that Mods don't necessarily add value to the car, except for someone looking for that specifically.

I would stay away from purchasing a performance modded car, as people don't add performance MOD to drive in the far right lane, more often than not, they beat on it as there's a reason they spend money to get it faster.

I've seen a 2007 stock 335i with 60k miles for 14.5k here for months and all summer and no one bought it. He wouldn't lower the price. I negated him to 13k but still felt like that was too much.

So I bought waited and found a stock 2011 335ix with 64k miles for 13.5k. Now it's time to pound this with a pure stage 2 turbo and meth

To be honest you won't get more than 10k with that many miles. The depreciate on these cars is sad when the n54 engine is a tank

Legends say to this day he is still trying to sell his 2007 335i at 14k with 60k miles

With your eyes closed you would feel that it?s a brand new car. I bought the car a few months ago for my 100 miles round trip daily commute but I will soon be buying a new m2 because I no longer need to travel that kind of distance. It?s a beautiful car all in all. If anyone could give me an idea of what my specific spec?d car is going for I would really appreciate it. Thank you! Here are the few mods it has and some of the maintenance done in the past 3k miles as well as some pictures.

Maintenance
-walnut shell blasting
-oil filter housing gasket
-oil cooler housing gasket
-brand new BMW OEM 335is clutch kit
-oil change, transmission fluid flush, and all new plugs and coils

Modification
-black kidney grilles
-bmw performance shift know with alcantara shift boot
-jb4 tuner
-catless downpipes
-hks blowoff valve
It's worth what someone will pay.
Look at Blue Book values as a guide.
Maintenence is assumed.
Ignore the mods and sometimes mods make the car worth less.
Catless downpipes in most areas make a car worth less.

So you go with an Xi? Lmao...

Heavier, handle worse, worse gas mileage, wider steering rack for less precision, more moving parts = more maintenance and crap to break with high hp, every mod gets taxed that much more so your drive train loss is even greater (less hp to the ground) and the suspension is higher than normal. I would never get an XI in a million years

I would agree to this with one caveat .. and your willing to wait a year for the right buyer.

I'm in the DFW area and bought my 2011 N55 (yes, not completely apples to apples) MT, Sport with nav & HK with 113k mi for $12,750 over two years ago.

This car was on Craigslist/Auto trader for a couple months and then was traded in. It then sat on the dealer lot for two months when I made my offer. I had looked at it when the last owner had it, but didn't want to low-ball him, so I passed. I looked at it again when I saw it on the dealer lot, but they wanted too much for it. When I bought it 2 months later, it had only 3 more miles and the seat was still in the same position I set it to.

So, yes they are rare, but also most people don't want them and those that do usually don't want one with >100k miles.

^this. My buddy recently bought a gorgeous 09 335i xdrive because he wanted more traction in PNW climate (rainy 70% of the year) and he thought he'd be happy with the grip and handling of the xdrive. He drove it for 5 minutes and he was looking for coilovers before I knew it because of how floaty and imprecise the handling is

Probably the most idiotic ignorant statement here. An X drive has a way better launch and all around traction. The power loss to the wheels is insignificant. The weight is only 200 lbs more.

Not sure if trolling or really stupid

I've never had an issue about 'floating' or imprecise handling.

I have good tires and the handling is great

A lot of salty people on here maybe because they keep losing traction with rwd

This forum has gone stupid

Heavier? Sure but who really cares when you have enough power at the wheels to move

We all know an extra 200 lbs slows you down and your 1/4 mile time, especially if you have 450whp and 500 lb/torque

I'm sure the people that say things like that are over 300lbs themselves
