How to dissasemble the iDrive knob?

Update: Probed 12v and ground of plug and all was good. Fuse was good to obviously. Tried my friend's iDrive and it works so I guess it's just dead and gotta get another one.

Picked up my car from the bodyshop and unfortunately seems my iDrive knob isn't working at all anymore. It says it doesn't communicate (it's own module) in ISTA so figured I'd take it a part. Noticed a ribbon cable inside was pretty loose and just slid outside of it's connector.

Now the issue is I can't seem to figure out how to remove the PCB from the plastic body/frame. I removed all the screws I could find, pull up really hard on the iDrive controller and tried to press in the plastic black tabs you see in the under pic but nothing seems to move.

Was wondering if anyone has advice and knows how? I really want to plug that cable back in and see if I can save having to buy a new one.

Update popped the top black cap and there was a screw under holding a plastic cap over it. Removed it and still nothing is budging.

I don't know how to get it apart but it looks like you can get a used one with cosmetic damage and swap over your good buttons and knob top. Is it getting power? The controller gets its power from an odd connector by the drivers foot rest.

I actually simply had to pull up the PCB after I removed that screw.

But hey that's a good idea, I'm probably going to end up getting a used one and I could get a bad looking one. I'm going to swap my friend's into mine to confirm new one works and if it does I think I'll do that.
