Painted E90 interior trims?

Hey everyone!

I’m about to have a body shop take my wood trim from my E90 and refinish it in some type of cool matte finish. However, I wanted to know if anyone has ever done this before? I’m wondering if after the wood trim has been sanded and primed, will the finish that I’m desiring come out exactly how I’d prefer it to be?

Thank you

I have on my last car, Nissan Maxima. Same deal....I pulled out all the ugly wood grain and had my paint shop match it to some other stuff they were painting. It came out fantastic and looked brand new till the day I sold the car!

I’ve personally never liked dipping anything at all with these cars. I just feel like it cheapens the car.

I honestly think it's who dips them and how many clear coats they put on.

I'm actually planning to do the same thing. I've tried several types of wraps and I just can't get anything to stay tight around the edges. It's hot as balls here in Vegas so it will look great after done, but once installed and the car sits in 115* heat, the vinyl starts unraveling again.

This is so true. Crazy hot here in LA as well. Wasn’t looking forward to having the wrap peel off!

I understand. I dunno, getting it done right isn't cheap by all means, I'm getting the internals of my headlights don't at the moment. I opted to do this because rattle can spray is cheap Imo, vinyl wrapping would melt with hid's, and painting at a shop is one color unless doing airbrush. I'd honestly give it a second look at. I know there's guys in the m3 section who have doesn't this with their trim. I def check it out.
