E92 suspension upgrade from M-sport 335i
My E92 (2011) 335i has the M-sport package (the VIN decoder says that is M-sport suspension, not sure what that means exactly). It rides soft and squishy, and I was hoping to upgrade the suspension for spirited street driving. Looking at Koni Yellows. Should I do Eibach springs as well? What will I gain and lose from the springs? I assume a stiffer spring weight; what about ride height?
Any other thoughts or recommendations? Looking to keep the upgrade under $1k (Koni is on sale at BavAuto this month). What would be the next improvement down the line, assuming I like the handing of the Koni Yellow setup? |

Just upgrade to a sport shock.
If your suspension is squishy, your shocks are shot. I'm running Bilstein B8 Sport shocks. Some say go with the B6. YMMV Koni's are also good. I like the Bilstein warranty. They ship you a new pair if your old ones die. They take a credit card deposit and don't charge it if they get the old shock back.

Koni and Bilstein are the two go to options. Both have lifetime warranties. The Konis tend to ride better at lower speeds, the Bilsteins tend to be a bit more indestructible over time. Both are solid upgrades.
If you are keeping the stock springs, both have tailor made struts for that ride height.

Cool, thanks for the replies. What would a set of Eibach pro springs bring me besides a slight drop? Any real world change in handling or road feel? Or, are we just talking a change in cosmetics mostly?

No impact on road feel. That is impacted by bushings and to a lesser extent, tires.
