So from the top: I deleted all traces of INPA NCS etc from C drive as you said earlier. Is that not correct anymore? What's confusing me is you reference having INPA, NCS, NFS , Ediabas folders on C:\ THEN running Step1.exe and I have no folders on C:\ UNTIL Step1.exe completes Should I not be deleting the starting folders I had from Vas DIY? Or maybe I'm missing a separate .rar or set of files I should have. On an unrelated note. Do you run procede? I could not figure out how to change maps with car off. I should know this but couldn't figure it out. I had to start car and change with stalk. What's odd is early in the night things seem to be working ok with the files from Vas but when I starting trying to update and try it again i kept getting some freezing. Now when I start my car this morning it was on Map 1 again.... I'm sure that didn't help matters. No clue how it got back to Map 1 last night. |

Correct take out all your old files from the old install. Then replace it with the new files from download zip that you just did. With new zip file there is a folder named ec-apps. Within that folder take INPA and Nfs out. Now you should have 4 folders from the zip file you just downloaded Put those four folders into c drive again and then do step 1-3. When it tells you that. Ec-apps/INPA cannot be found during BMW tools setup in first step, simply browse and make it find it in c drive. Do same for ec-apps/ncs.

Just to be sure. You are saying this "ec-apps" was in this downloaded .rar http://quick99si3.home.comcast.net/~...02_Updated.rar ? Are you using anything from this link which contains the entire cd image in a .nrg http://quick99si3.home.comcast.net/~...6.4.3-full.rar ? Last edited by FirstBMWLA; 02-28-2012 at 11:47 AM.. |

If anyone that bought this cable, could email me a copy of the driver? That would be great!

Try these drivers:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm They ended up working for me and I might be able to FINALLY run them in VMWare without Windows crashing!

The wheels fell off for me when I started trying to update files for E92. Be nice if we could get a "golden" set of files for E90-E93. Even if filesize is large just something we wouldn't have to keep jumping through hoops to update. |

It's hard to keep it up to date with files since BMW constantly updates their softwares with revisions after revisions. I have never updated my software since I bought the car and it seems as though INPA 5.02 and ediabas 6.4.7 is working perfect with my car. There is at the moment hardly anything inpa is not able to connect with my car. Everything seems to be working exception the INPA variance warning message but I click ok and proceed forward and INPA still reads the module that it is calling upon
Did you get it working yet? |

My car is an 07 E92 and was updated with software during a turbo replacement for reference. I'm at work atm so not working yet. I'm still trying to sort out why I cannot seem to find this "ec-apps" folder you reference. I'll try redownloading the .rar again but not sure. My memory tells me the .rar only contained: 1 .pdf and the Step1-3 .exe files. I've yet to see an "ec-apps" folder. The only time i've even seen that referenced is when running step 2.exe it is autopopulated into a field for something. Kind of lost atm... |

OK, I just needed to check a box to let windows use the internet, and it found the driver and everything worked on that end. The cable is all set up.
I followed the DIY step by step and everything seemed easy, except my INPALOAD shortcut on the desktop will not open. Im getting the following error... Quote:
Thanks!

Hmm, I went through the whole process twice and double checked everything step by step just like the DIY says and I can't find anything I did wrong according to the DIY... but I still get that error when I try to open INPALOAD
